Momentarily sparks flame from the caster's hand.

This incantation can be cast without delay after performing another action.

The flame of ruin is anathema to the Erdtree. But prophets sometimes glimpse it within the faith all the same. Sadly when this occurs their sole reward is banishment.

Roundtable Hold

Starting Site of Grace: Table of Lost Grace

Before you go

• Have 600 runes.
• Have access to Roundtable Hold.

1. Accept Melina's invitation to Roundtable Hold when she offers it at a grace. Once visited, the Hold can be selected at the bottom left of the map.
2. In the room with the large central table, speak to Brother Corhyn, the man in yellow robes standing against the wall. Choose his incantation shop.
3. Buy Catch Flame for 600 runes. This is part of his starting stock; no prayerbook or Goldmask quest progress is needed.
4. If he has already left for Altus, follow the road north from Altus Highway Junction to the map monument. He stands beside the road near that monument until you move his quest forward.
5. After purchasing, rest at a grace and use Memorize spell. Equip a sacred seal and meet both its requirements and the spell's requirements before casting.

Prophet starting equipment

1. Choose Prophet when creating your character. This spell is included in that class's starting equipment. Other classes can obtain it through the purchase route.

Notes

• Requires 8 Faith and one memory slot. Cast with a sacred seal for 10 FP.
• A very short burst of Fire damage from your hand. You need to be close enough for the flame to touch; this is a melee-range spell rather than a fireball.
• Can be cast repeatedly, with faster follow-up casts. It also comes out quickly after a roll, backstep or jump, making it useful for punishing a nearby enemy after dodging.
• Each cast still costs 10 FP and 17 stamina. Leave enough stamina to dodge instead of using the entire bar on repeated flames.
• Cannot be charged. Godfrey Icon does not add its charged-spell bonus, and Giant's Seal does not give this incantation its school bonus.
• Its damage uses the casting seal's Incantation Scaling. General incantation bonuses and Fire-damage bonuses can improve it; raising Faith is useful when the seal's casting strength scales with Faith.
• Costs 600 runes from Corhyn. If he dies before you buy it, giving Corhyn's Bell Bearing to the Twin Maiden Husks makes this starting-stock spell available there for the same price.
