In-game description

One of the incantations of the Fire Monks.

Creates a fire within that burns away toxins.

Alleviates poison and scarlet rot buildup and cures these ailments.

This incantation leaves the caster with subtle burns—a reminder that they must fear the flame.

Fire Monk camp south of Church of Vows

Liurnia of the Lakes

Starting Site of Grace: Eastern Tableland

  1. Reach eastern Liurnia's raised ground and activate Eastern Tableland grace. The camp you need is southwest of this grace, or northwest of the Artist's Shack, south of Church of Vows.
  2. Look for the red tents and the large campfire guarded by a Fire Monk and soldiers. Separate the enemies if you need a safe chance to search the camp.
  3. Loot the corpse on the right side of the fire for Flame, Cleanse Me. This is the eastern Fire Monk camp; Fire Monks' Prayerbook is in a different camp on Liurnia's western side.
  4. Rest at a grace to memorize it and equip a sacred seal. You do not need to give the spell to a teacher or buy it after collecting the corpse pickup.

Notes

  • Requires 12 Faith, one memory slot and a sacred seal. Costs 14 FP and a small amount of HP each time you cast it.
  • Clears poison and Scarlet Rot buildup, and cures either ailment after it has triggered. It treats the caster, rather than nearby allies.
  • Also removes an active Frostbite effect. It does not clear the frost buildup meter before Frostbite triggers, so it is not a substitute for Thawfrost Boluses in that situation.
  • The cure is immediate, not lasting immunity. Remaining in a rot swamp or poison pool starts building the condition again after the cast.
  • Its cleansing effect is fixed. Extra Faith and seal upgrades do not improve the cure, making it useful on a character that only meets the requirements.
  • Keep enough health to finish the cast. It is useful for repeated swamp crossings, but its HP cost and the time spent casting matter when rot has already left you close to death.
