About this armor

Raises Faith by one while worn. The bonus comes from this chest piece alone; you do not need the matching headband or shoes.

The Faith point can help meet an incantation or weapon requirement. Removing the chest also removes that point, so an item used at exactly its minimum requirement may stop working properly.

Weighs 4.1 and provides seven poise. Tailoring removes the cape and lowers weight, defenses and resistances, but keeps the one-point Faith bonus.

  • Entry 1:
    • attribute: Faith
    • model: additive
    • type: positive
    • value: 1

In-game description

Modest garb made of cloth.

Standard wear for commoners of the Lands Between.

The board hung from the neck depicts a sprawling tree, its roots and branches forming two holes. This is a self-imposed shackle, a voluntary display of allegiance to the Erdtree that increases faith.

Where to find

Small balcony east of Gateside Chamber

Limgrave

Starting Site of Grace: Gateside Chamber

Before you go

  • Obtain Commoner's Simple Garb and the ordinary Tailoring Tools.
  1. After defeating Margit, have Gostoc open Stormveil's main gate or approach the gatehouse from inside the castle. The direct road through the open gate is heavily defended by soldiers and ballistae; avoid stopping in their line of fire.
  2. Enter the room immediately beside the main gate and activate Gateside Chamber grace. If you came from inside the castle, its lever opens the gate for later visits.
  3. Leave through the nearby side doorway onto the small balcony east of the chamber. Loot the corpse outside for Commoner's Simple Garb. The pickup is outside on this balcony, rather than beside the grace.
  4. For the Tailoring Tools, enter Coastal Cave on the beach below western Limgrave and defeat its two Demi-Human Chiefs. Bring a light for the cave.
  5. Rest at a grace, choose Alter garments and change the chest for 500 runes. Boc can make the alteration free once his tailoring service is available. The change uses your existing piece; it does not make an extra copy.

Notes

  • Raises Faith by one while worn. The bonus comes from this chest piece alone; you do not need the matching headband or shoes.
  • The Faith point can help meet an incantation or weapon requirement. Removing the chest also removes that point, so an item used at exactly its minimum requirement may stop working properly.
  • Weighs 4.1 and provides seven poise. Tailoring removes the cape and lowers weight, defenses and resistances, but keeps the one-point Faith bonus.
  • Can be changed between the regular and altered versions with ordinary tailoring. This costs 500 runes at a grace, or is free through Boc's available tailoring service.
  • This is a fixed balcony pickup in Stormveil. It is a separate chest from the embroidered Commoner's Garb dropped by servants.
