About this item
Throws one stone that bursts with Fire damage on impact. Each use consumes a stone but costs no FP; carry up to 20 at once.
Fire damage scales more strongly with Strength than Dexterity. It does not need Faith simply because the damage is Fire.
The explosion gives 3 stance damage. It can finish or interrupt a small vulnerable enemy, but is not a reliable single-hit stance break against a boss.

Where to find
Twin Maiden Husks after the Sealed Tunnel bearing
Capital Outskirts
Starting Site of Grace: Outer Wall Phantom Tree
Before you go
- Have 300 runes per item.
- Offer Smithing-Stone Miner's Bell Bearing [2] to the Twin Maiden Husks.
- From Outer Wall Phantom Tree, descend into the water southwest of Leyndell's walls and enter Sealed Tunnel.
- Activate the grace, then hit the false wall beside the torch to open the mining room.
- Follow the right side down past the miners and clutter, then open the chest for Smithing-Stone Miner's Bell Bearing [2]. The boss farther inside is not required.
- Give the bearing to the Twin Maiden Husks at Roundtable Hold, then buy Explosive Stones for 300 runes each.
Explosive miners in Limgrave Tunnels
Limgrave

- Follow the northern edge of Agheel Lake to the mine entrance in the cliff. Ride the lift down and activate Limgrave Tunnels grace.
- Continue into the mining room and look for the miners who throw explosive stones.
- Defeat those miners and collect their drops. Rest and repeat for another chance at Explosive Stones.
Notes
- Throws one stone that bursts with Fire damage on impact. Each use consumes a stone but costs no FP; carry up to 20 at once.
- Fire damage scales more strongly with Strength than Dexterity. It does not need Faith simply because the damage is Fire.
- The explosion gives 3 stance damage. It can finish or interrupt a small vulnerable enemy, but is not a reliable single-hit stance break against a boss.
- Fire bonuses improve its damage. Shard of Alexander and incantation bonuses do not improve it as a skill or spell, and pot-specific bonuses do not apply just because it is thrown.
- Fire can reset an active Frostbite effect so buildup can trigger it again. That also removes the ongoing Frostbite vulnerability, so resetting immediately is not always beneficial.
- Smithing-Stone Miner's Bell Bearing [2] unlocks unlimited stock at the Twin Maiden Husks for 300 runes each. The bearing chest is near the start of Sealed Tunnel; its boss is unnecessary.
- Explosive miners provide another supply. There is no crafting recipe, so owning ordinary stones and mushrooms does not let you replenish it from the crafting menu.
- Explosive Stone Clump is a separate five-projectile item. Buying this single-stone stock does not unlock the clump.
