In-game description
This legendary incantation is one of several that draws directly from the power of the Fire Giants.
Releases a ball of raging fire said to be inhabited by a fell god. The fireball floats toward enemies and explodes, setting the area ablaze.
Arghanthy, the chief guardian of the Flame, had kept this incantation a well-kept secret until it was stolen by Adan. The fell god still lurks within the Fire Giants.
Where to find
Malefactor's Evergaol
Liurnia of the Lakes
Starting Site of Grace: Liurnia Lake Shore
- Descend from Lake-Facing Cliffs into southern Liurnia and activate Liurnia Lake Shore. Ride northwest into the shallow water and find the spiritspring beside the cliff.
- Use the spring with Torrent to land on the plateau above, then head south to the large circular stone disc of Malefactor's Evergaol.
- Interact with the center to enter Adan's prison. Defeat Adan, Thief of Fire to receive Flame of the Fell God. The circling stone creatures outside are not the spell's source.
- Keep clear of his slow fire orb while approaching for an opening. The reward appears after victory; there is no separate chest or prayerbook to collect.
Notes
- Requires 41 Faith, two memory slots and 34 FP. It is one of the legendary incantations.
- Creates a slow-moving Fire orb that follows a nearby enemy and detonates after approaching it. The delay lets you reposition or pressure the target while it deals with the orb.
- Only one orb can be active per caster. Casting another removes your previous orb, so repeated casting does not build a whole group of floating fireballs.
- The explosion leaves burning patches for about seven seconds. Those patches can remain after you cast another orb, and a target must stay in them to take their later damage.
- The explosion starts at 415% of incantation scaling before defenses. The smaller lingering contacts use a much lower coefficient, so they do not each repeat the explosion's damage.
- It cannot be charged and does not benefit from Godfrey Icon. Its delayed explosion is the normal behavior, not a charged-cast effect.
- Adan awards it directly on defeat. His own spell use does not mean that the player version can keep several orbs active at once.
- Spirit Ashes and other players cannot be summoned inside this Evergaol. You do not need a Stonesword Key to enter it.
- Giant's Seal increases this spell's damage by 20% while held in an active hand. Two active copies give 44% together. You can cast with a different seal while holding Giant's Seal in the other hand.
- Fire Scorpion Charm, Flame-Shrouding Cracked Tear and Flame, Grant Me Strength can improve its Fire damage. The damage still depends on your casting seal and attributes; having the required Faith only lets you cast it.
- Fire hits can clear an enemy's active Frostbite. That lets you build Frostbite again, but also removes its damage-taken penalty until the next proc.
