Erdtree incantations

An incantation of Erdtree Worship.

Greatly increases lightning damage negation for the caster and nearby allies.

Hold to continue praying, delaying the effect.

This incantation was used by the knights of the Erdtree during the assault by the great ancient dragon Gransax, and the bitter War of the Ancient Dragons that followed.

Scarab near the Dragon Temple Lift plateau

Crumbling Farum Azula

Starting Site of Grace: Dragon Temple Lift

Before you go

• Reach Crumbling Farum Azula and unlock Dragon Temple Lift.

1. Reach the Dragon Temple section of Crumbling Farum Azula and defeat the Godskin Duo to open the route beyond their arena.
2. Find the imp-sealed lift in the Dragon Temple area. Spend two Stonesword Keys to open its seal, ride up and activate Dragon Temple Lift.
3. From the upper grace, head southeast toward the golden sapling in the ruined plaza. This is the upper plateau with an Ancient Dragon, rather than the lower Dragon Temple Rooftop route.
4. From the sapling area, go southwest toward the cliff and drop carefully to the lower ledge. Look for the scarab on that ledge.
5. Kill the scarab for Golden Lightning Fortification. Avoid drawing the dragon into the pickup if possible; defeating it is not the reward condition.

Notes

• Reduces incoming Lightning damage by 60% against enemies or 20% against players for 70 seconds. Nearby allies can receive the same protection.
• This covers the Lightning portion of an attack. A dragon's physical stomp, bite or tail swipe is not covered just because its lightning breath is.
• This is a body buff. Other body buffs, including Boiled Crab, Flame, Grant Me Strength and other fortification spells, replace it. Golden Vow is a separate aura and can work alongside it.
• Its protection is fixed. More Faith or a stronger sacred seal does not increase the percentage, and holding the prayer only delays activation rather than charging a stronger version.
• The reduction multiplies with existing Lightning negation. It does not provide immunity or add a flat 60 percentage points to the armor display.
• Gather allies close before casting. Holding the prayer can help wait for someone to move into reach, but does not make the protection stronger.
• Old Lord's Talisman extends the duration to 91 seconds. This lasts less time than ordinary Lightning Fortification but gives much stronger protection against enemies.
• Requires 24 Faith, one memory slot and a sacred seal. Costs 30 FP. The imp seal on the route uses two Stonesword Keys; the spell itself is a scarab drop.
