Glintstone sorceries

In-game description

One of the glintstone sorceries of the Academy of Raya Lucaria.

The glintstone serves as a conduit, launching large magical projectiles at foes.

This sorcery can be cast repeatedly and while in motion.

Those unworthy of the stone crown typically end their brief journey into sorcery here.

Where to find

Graveyard west of Lake-Facing Cliffs, then Church of Vows

Liurnia of the Lakes

Starting Site of Grace: Lake-Facing Cliffs

Before you go

  • 2,000 runes for the spell.
  1. From Lake-Facing Cliffs in southern Liurnia, go west into the nearby graveyard. Search the corpse among the graves for the Academy Scroll.
  2. Take the scroll to Miriel at the Church of Vows in eastern Liurnia. From Artist's Shack, follow the road north and take the uphill branch toward the ruined church, where the large turtle in a white mitre is waiting.
  3. Give Miriel the scroll, then open his purchase menu. Sellen and Seluvis are alternative teachers while their shops remain available; handing over the scroll unlocks stock rather than giving you the spells for free.
  4. Give Miriel Academy Scroll and purchase Great Glintstone Shard for 2,000 runes. You do not need to enter Raya Lucaria for this scroll.

Notes

  • Needs 16 Intelligence and one memory slot. Each cast costs 12 FP and fires a larger Magic projectile through a glintstone staff.
  • It can be cast repeatedly and while walking. Use consecutive casts when you have a clear opening, but leave enough stamina to dodge afterward.
  • It cannot be charged, so holding the input does not produce Cometshard. Godfrey Icon's charged-spell bonus does not apply.
  • The projectile has slight tracking, which does not guarantee a hit against a moving enemy. Keep a clear line rather than firing from behind a pillar.
  • Its 12 FP cost is higher than Glintstone Pebble's 7 FP and Swift Glintstone Shard's 5 FP. Use the larger hit when it saves an extra cast, and keep a cheaper option for weak targets.
  • Buy it for 2,000 runes after giving Academy Scroll to a sorcery teacher. It is a different unlock from the later Conspectus Scroll spells.
