In-game description
Superior incantation of Dragon Communion.
Channels the power of Greyoll, the Elder Dragon.
An incantation of legendary status.
Transforms caster into a dragon to emit a terrible roar, reducing the attack power and defense of nearby enemies.
Greyoll was the mother of all dragons, dwarfing all who stood before her like a looming mountain.
Where to find
Cathedral of Dragon Communion
Caelid
Starting Site of Grace: Cathedral of Dragon Communion
Before you go
- Bring 3 Dragon Hearts.
- Defeat Elder Dragon Greyoll outside Fort Faroth in Dragonbarrow. This is the enormous stationary dragon surrounded by smaller dragons, not Flying Dragon Greyll on Farum Greatbridge.
- Reach the Third Church of Marika in northeastern Limgrave. Behind the church, follow the shallow stream into the bushes to find the sending gate against the cliff. Use it to reach Bestial Sanctum in Dragonbarrow.
- Activate Bestial Sanctum grace inside, then ride south past the Black Blade Kindred outside. Follow the road downhill to Farum Greatbridge and activate its grace before crossing.
- Ride across the bridge past Flying Dragon Greyll. Turn right toward the Minor Erdtree and use the spiritspring beside the cliff to reach the higher plateau. The dragon and Putrid Avatar are optional fights for this route.
- Ride toward the huge resting dragon Greyoll and the fort beside her. Activate Fort Faroth grace outside the entrance. Neither Greyoll nor the smaller dragons need to be killed.
- Defeat Elder Dragon Greyoll beside Fort Faroth. You can attack her directly from the rear or defeat the smaller dragons tied to her health. This is the enormous stationary dragon, rather than Flying Dragon Greyll on the bridge.
- From Summonwater Village in northeastern Limgrave, follow the main road east into Caelid. Stay on the highway as it curves south around the Swamp of Aeonia toward Caelid Highway South.
- Leave the southern road toward the ruined church on the hill south of the swamp. Decaying Ekzykes is near the approach; pass around the dragon if your chosen purchase does not require its defeat.
- Enter Cathedral of Dragon Communion and activate its grace. A Banished Knight patrols the ruins, so clear the immediate area before trying the altar.
- Interact with the red altar and choose the Dragon Communion menu. The price is paid in Dragon Hearts, rather than runes, and purchasing a spell is separate from equipping it at a grace.
- Select Greyoll's Roar and spend 3 Dragon Hearts.
Notes
- Deals Standard physical damage in an area around you and weakens enemies it reaches. It is a close-range roar rather than a breath aimed across the arena.
- For 60 seconds, affected enemies deal 15% less damage and take 10% more damage. The latter is increased damage received, rather than removing ten flat points of defense.
- The debuff affects physical and elemental damage. Increasing the seal's damage scaling strengthens the initial roar, rather than increasing the fixed 15% and 10% values.
- Casting again refreshes the effect rather than stacking several copies. It is an enemy debuff, so your own Golden Vow aura can still be active.
- Uses two memory slots and costs 50 FP. It cannot be charged, so Godfrey Icon does not boost it.
- Roar Medallion improves the damaging roar, and Dragon Communion Seal boosts its spell-school damage. Those bonuses do not make its debuff percentages larger.
- One of the incantations counted for the Legendary Sorceries and Incantations achievement. Buying it and equipping it are separate actions.
- Kill Elder Dragon Greyoll beside Fort Faroth to unlock it, then spend three hearts at the cathedral. Flying Dragon Greyll on Farum Greatbridge is a different dragon.
- Cast with a sacred seal. Requires 28 Faith and 17 Arcane, uses 2 memory slots and costs 50 FP to start.
- Roar Medallion improves its direct damage by 10% against enemies and 5% against other players. It does not increase fixed status buildup or debuff percentages.
- Dragon Communion Seal gives a 15% damage bonus while held in an active hand, even if another seal performs the cast. Its damage scaling uses Faith and Arcane; a different seal uses its own attributes.
