Starting Site of Grace: Small Private Altar
Before you go
- To enter the Realm of Shadow, defeat Starscourge Radahn and Mohg, Lord of Blood, then touch the withered arm in Mohg's arena at Mohgwyn Palace.
- Access the Realm of Shadow and reach Small Private Altar in Belurat.
- From Three-Path Cross, follow the western route through the rocky passage to Main Gate Cross outside Belurat.
- Climb the entrance stairs and open the large doors. Pass the giant scorpions and the room of smaller scorpions, then continue upstairs to Belurat, Tower Settlement grace.
- The large doors ahead are shut. Take the path right into the small square with the waterfall, then turn left toward the elevated bridge where shadow casters fire down at you.
- Pass beneath the elevated bridge and enter the open doorway on the left. Clear the shadow enemies and climb the building's stairs to Small Private Altar grace.
- Leave through the northern doorway and climb the stairs on the right. The Horned Warrior with two curved swords patrols just above the grace.
- Defeat it and check its loot. Each armor piece and the sword have separate random rolls, so one victory does not guarantee the outfit. Rest at Small Private Altar and repeat as needed. The Dancing Lion boss and both dungeon keys are unnecessary for this farm.
Notes
- Requires 11 Strength, 14 Dexterity and 14 Faith, weighs 5 and has a critical rating of 100. It is a paired curved sword: two-hand one copy to draw both blades.
- Its ordinary attacks deal physical damage, but unusually that physical damage scales with Strength, Dexterity and Faith. Dexterity has the strongest individual scaling, followed by Strength and Faith.
- A mix of Strength and Dexterity can remain useful as investment in one attribute begins to give smaller gains. Faith also improves the skill's Holy horns, so a Dexterity/Faith setup trades some ordinary attack focus for a stronger ranged skill. There is no single best split for every level.
- Upgrade it with Somber Smithing Stones to +10. Horn Calling is fixed; another Ash of War or affinity cannot replace it. Grease and external weapon enchantments cannot be applied.
- Horn Calling costs 17 FP. The sword strikes the ground, then horns emerge under the target. The close weapon contact and the Holy horn attack are separate parts, and the horns improve with Faith and weapon upgrades.
- The horns provide a ranged option for a short melee weapon, but they emerge after a delay. A target can move out of the area, while a player who dodges too early can still be caught as they appear.
- The skill cannot be charged and does not leave a lasting Holy enchantment on ordinary swings. Shard of Alexander strengthens the skill; Godfrey Icon does not add a charge bonus to it.
- It has no innate blood loss or other status effect. The paired attacks can build successive-hit bonuses, but using two swords does not automatically make them inflict bleeding.
- The paired-sword carrier has a 4% base weapon drop chance at 100 Discovery, separate from the 3% armor rolls. Greatsword-carrying warriors are a different weapon target.
