Where to find
Weeping Peninsula
Starting Site of Grace: Church of Pilgrimage
- Cross Bridge of Sacrifice into the Weeping Peninsula, follow the road south and take the western branch toward the central plateau. Ride north up that plateau to the hilltop Church of Pilgrimage, staying on the high ground rather than following the coast below it.
- Reach the Church of Pilgrimage on the hill at the northern end of the Weeping Peninsula. Activate its grace, then step outside into the graveyard beside the church.
- Find the skeleton carrying curved swords and defeat it. Strike its remains while it tries to stand back up so the kill is finished, then check for a dropped item.
- The sword is a random drop. Rest at the nearby church grace and repeat this skeleton until it drops. The short distance makes this a convenient farming spot.
Notes
- Requires 11 Strength and 13 Dexterity, and weighs five. Standard scaling favors Dexterity over Strength. Heavy favors Strength, Keen favors Dexterity and elemental affinities change the relevant damage attributes.
- Its long curved blade gives useful reach for this weapon class. It has no innate blood loss, even though it is often used in bleed setups; Blood affinity or an allowed coating supplies that effect.
- Spinning Slash costs six FP for the opening swing and another 12 for the strong-attack follow-up. Both parts use the weapon's attack power rather than an Arcane-scaled ranged projectile.
- A second sword is needed for the paired curved-sword moveset. The skeleton's two equipped swords do not make one inventory copy into a paired weapon.
- The selected skeleton has two separate 1.5% base sword rolls at 100 Discovery. The chance of at least one is about 2.98%, and a rare kill can drop both.
- Finish the skeleton by hitting its glowing remains. Leaving it to reassemble interrupts the farm, while resting at Church of Pilgrimage resets the defeated enemy for another attempt.
- Upgrade it with ordinary Smithing Stones to +25. Its critical rating is the normal 100.
- Can use compatible Ashes of War. Grease or a weapon enchantment can be applied while using an affinity that allows weapon buffs; elemental and status affinities normally prevent those coatings.
