Frenzied Flame incantations

In-game description

Incantation originating from the maddening Three Fingers.

Releases a maddening shriek that causes madness buildup in foes nearby.

This incantation also causes madness buildup in the caster and makes enemies more likely to target them.

It is said that the sickness of the flame of frenzy began with Shabriri, the most reviled man in all history.

Where to find

Frenzy-Flaming Tower

Liurnia of the Lakes

Starting Site of Grace: Frenzied Flame Village Outskirts

  1. Reach Bellum Highway in northeastern Liurnia. From the road toward Grand Lift of Dectus, use the uphill path south of the lift to approach Frenzied Flame Village.
  2. The tower's yellow flame builds Madness when it has line of sight. Move between rocks and solid walls during its active periods, or clear the enemies at the top of the tower to stop the effect.
  3. Approach Frenzy-Flaming Tower southeast of Grand Lift of Dectus using the rocks and ruined walls as cover. Enter the base and climb the ladders.
  4. Defeat the enemies at the top to stop the tower's yellow flame. Return to the chest on the middle level and open it for Howl of Shabriri. Killing Vyke and meeting the Three Fingers are unnecessary.

Notes

  • Requires 33 Faith, uses one memory slot and costs 21 FP. The scream deals repeated small Physical hits and Madness buildup nearby; its direct damage is not Fire.
  • Its main benefit is a 40-second body buff that increases damage dealt by 25% across damage types. The tradeoff is 30% more damage taken and greater enemy attention.
  • It works for Physical, Magic, Fire, Lightning and Holy offense, rather than only frenzy spells. The extra damage taken also affects every incoming damage type.
  • As a body buff, it does not stack with Flame, Grant Me Strength, Exalted Flesh or Boiled Crab. Golden Vow is a different buff category and can be combined with it.
  • Old Lord's Talisman extends the buff from 40 to 52 seconds. Frenzied Flame Seal improves the scream's direct damage, rather than making its 25% attack buff stronger.
  • The scream builds Madness on you as well as susceptible nearby enemies. It can activate Black Dumpling, Madding Hand or Aged One's Exultation if Madness actually triggers nearby.
  • Those trigger bonuses are separate effects. Merely filling part of a Madness meter does not activate them, and triggering Madness on yourself leaves you vulnerable.
  • Madness primarily affects players and eligible human NPCs. Ordinary creatures and most bosses are immune to the status, although the spell's direct damage can still hurt them.
  • Finish the cast before an enemy reaches you when using it as a pre-fight buff. The increased damage taken makes forcing it during a dangerous combo especially costly.
