About this armor
Weighs 9.9 and provides 19 poise. Lightning is its strongest elemental protection at 7.9% negation, but it does not strengthen your own Lightning damage.
Provides 47 Robustness, which helps resist Bleed and Frostbite buildup. That resistance does not cure either condition or make you immune.
Has no Dragon Communion, Dragon Cult or dragon-form damage bonus. The dragon decoration does not grant the sentinel's abilities or a special effect against dragons.
In-game description
Malformed golden greaves.
Adorned with various dragon imagery and worn by the misshapen Tree Sentinels.
After the great ancient dragon Gransax attacked, the sentinels had an epiphany. The only way to truly protect the Erdtree was to become dragons themselves.
Where to find
Bridge before Maliketh
Crumbling Farum Azula
Starting Site of Grace: Beside the Great Bridge
- Reach Crumbling Farum Azula through the Forge of the Giants after Fire Giant. The isolated Four Belfries destination does not lead to this armor.
- Continue through the dungeon, defeat Godskin Duo and follow the Dragon Temple Rooftop route to the lift leading up to Beside the Great Bridge grace.
- From the grace, go up both flights of stairs to the great bridge and turn southeast, uphill. The Draconic Tree Sentinel stands near the fog door at the high end.
- Defeat that sentinel to receive all four Malformed Dragon pieces together. It uses a large hammer, fireballs from its horse and Lightning attacks; give yourself room on the bridge to avoid being pushed over an edge.
- The armor is awarded by this enemy, so there is no chest to search and no Item Discovery farm. Maliketh beyond the fog is not required for the outfit.
Notes
- Weighs 9.9 and provides 19 poise. Lightning is its strongest elemental protection at 7.9% negation, but it does not strengthen your own Lightning damage.
- Provides 47 Robustness, which helps resist Bleed and Frostbite buildup. That resistance does not cure either condition or make you immune.
- Has no Dragon Communion, Dragon Cult or dragon-form damage bonus. The dragon decoration does not grant the sentinel's abilities or a special effect against dragons.
- The Farum Azula sentinel drops the whole outfit as a fixed reward. The similar sentinel outside Leyndell gives Dragon Greatclaw and Dragonclaw Shield instead.
- Has no altered version and cannot be reinforced with Smithing Stones. You can wear the piece with other armor without losing a matching-outfit effect.
