The matching outfit contains three pieces and has no helmet. The wing-shaped ornaments identify the knight chest, rather than the ordinary soldier's dark surcoat.
Tailoring the chest removes its ornaments and saves one weight while retaining 25 poise. The gauntlets and greaves cannot be altered.
In-game description
Armor worn by headless knights who endlessly guard the Wandering Mausoleum.
The wing-shaped ornaments on its back evoke the Deathbird. A self-inflicted curse that ties the spirits of these loyal knights to the land, having willingly beheaded themselves so that they may serve their masters in death.

Before you go
- Obtain Mausoleum Knight Armor first.
- Reach Ruined Labyrinth in northeastern Liurnia. Follow the wooded route north toward the ravine leading to Black Knife Catacombs, keeping clear of the Runebear on the approach.
- Follow the cliffside to the catacomb entrance at the end of the ravine. The headless knight with an Eclipse Crest Greatshield stands outside the door.
- Enter the catacombs and activate the grace just inside. Return through the entrance to fight the knight; going deeper into the dungeon is unnecessary.
- Collect its glowing loot and rest at Black Knife Catacombs to repeat. The winged chest, gauntlets and greaves drop separately, along with independent weapon and shield rolls.
- This knight is a convenient alternative to guards beside a Wandering Mausoleum. Neither of the catacomb bosses is required for its armor.
- Find Coastal Cave on the beach below western Limgrave. Bring a torch or lantern, clear the cave and defeat the two Demi-Human Chiefs for the Tailoring Tools and Sewing Needle.
- Rest at a Site of Grace, choose Alter garments and select Mausoleum Knight Armor to make Mausoleum Knight Armor (Altered). This changes the item you already own; it does not create another copy.

- The armor does not make you headless, let you teleport or prevent Death Blight. There is no matching-set effect.
- The knight guarding Black Knife Catacombs gives a short repeatable farm without relying on guards beside a Wandering Mausoleum. Finish other mausoleum-guard farms before using their mausoleum.
