Enchants armament held in the right hand with poison.

This incantation can be cast while in motion.

Those who dwell within poison know rot all too well. The death that begets life, that comes to all equally. That is to say: it is the cycle of rebirth put into practice.

Scarab south of Sellia Crystal Tunnel

Caelid

Starting Site of Grace: Sellia Crystal Tunnel

  1. Reach Sellia Crystal Tunnel at the northern edge of the Swamp of Aeonia in Caelid. If the trapped chest in Dragon-Burnt Ruins sent you here, leave the hut, follow the mine downward and activate the grace near its exit.
  2. Go out through the tunnel mouth into the open air. You do not need to defeat the Fallingstar Beast deeper inside the mine.
  3. Ride south from the entrance onto the open ground along the northern edge of the swamp. Look for the rolling scarab below the tunnel.
  4. Kill that scarab to receive Poison Armament. Keep clear of the rot pools while following it.

Notes

  • Adds 70 base Poison buildup to a compatible right-hand weapon for 60 seconds. Individual attacks can apply different amounts according to their status-buildup multiplier.
  • Faith and Incant Scaling do not increase the base 70 buildup. Arcane can improve the added Poison when the weapon itself has appropriate Arcane scaling; using an Arcane-scaling seal alone is not enough.
  • This causes ordinary Poison, rather than deadly poison or Scarlet Rot. Its normal player-inflicted health drain is 0.07% of maximum HP plus 7 HP per second for 90 seconds, subject to the target's immunity and special adjustments.
  • Poison must first fill the enemy's resistance meter. More hits do not stack additional copies of the same poison damage once that poison is active.
  • Hold a sacred seal in your left hand and the weapon in your right. Grease or weapon enchantments can be applied while using an affinity that allows weapon buffs, usually Standard, Heavy, Keen or Quality. Some unique weapons have their own exceptions.
  • Shares the weapon-buff slot with grease and other weapon enchantments. Applying another coating replaces this one; switching to an incompatible weapon does not transfer it onto that weapon.
  • You can move while casting. Old Lord's Talisman extends the weapon coating to 78 seconds; that is separate from the duration of poison already inflicted on an enemy.
  • Requires 10 Faith, one memory slot and a sacred seal. Costs 15 FP. The spell drops outside Sellia Crystal Tunnel, rather than from its boss.
