In-game description
Incantation of the servants of rot.
Releases a poisonous mist before the caster.
This incantation can be cast while in motion.
Those who dwell within poison know rot all too well. The death that begets life, that comes to all equally. That is to say: it is the cycle of rebirth put into practice.
Where to find
Woods east of the Castle Morne road
Weeping Peninsula
Starting Site of Grace: Castle Morne Rampart
- From southern Limgrave, cross the Bridge of Sacrifice and follow the main road south through Weeping Peninsula to Castle Morne Rampart grace.
- Continue south toward Castle Morne and look for the map monument beside the road. Turn east into the wooded ground rather than continuing to the castle gate.
- Find the scarab north of the small poison pool, northeast of Castle Morne Lift grace. Kill it before it buries itself to receive Poison Mist.
- This is a scarab reward, not a drop from the poisonous plants or the nearby soldiers. Castle Morne's boss is unnecessary for it.
Notes
- Requires 12 Faith, one memory slot and a sacred seal. Costs 18 FP to release a cloud in front of you.
- The cloud lasts about 16 seconds and builds ordinary poison on enemies that remain inside. It deals no direct impact damage, and an enemy immune to poison will not become vulnerable after repeated casts.
- The ordinary buildup is 20 per tick, with ticks every 0.2 seconds. A target briefly touching the edge may leave before enough buildup accumulates to trigger poison.
- Dragon Communion Seal's Arcane scaling can increase the buildup. Extra Faith or ordinary Incantation Scaling on a seal without Arcane scaling does not give the same increase.
- Faster buildup does not make each second of the resulting poison damage stronger. Once poison is active, another cloud does not stack a second independent poison drain on top.
- You can move slowly while casting, and the spell is quiet enough to poison an unaware, stationary enemy without a direct damaging hit alerting it. You still need to stay out of sight and avoid being noticed during the approach.
- This is the incantation cloud, not the Poisonous Mist Ash of War. Casting it does not coat your weapon with poison.
