About this item

Throws one stone with Physical impact damage and 100 base Poison buildup. It consumes a stone, costs no FP and can be carried in stacks of up to 20.

Strength gives the strongest impact scaling, with smaller Dexterity and Arcane contributions. Arcane also improves the Poison buildup rather than changing it into Scarlet Rot.

The enemy must accumulate enough buildup before ordinary Poison begins. A hit is not an instant Poison application, and immune targets cannot be poisoned.

In-game description

A small stone with a poison core.

Throw at enemies to cause buildup of poison.

Miners employ these stones as tools for pest extermination, but have long forgotten how to craft them.

Where to find

Nomadic Merchant above the western Swamp of Aeonia

Caelid

Starting Site of Grace: Astray from Caelid Highway North

Before you go

  • Have 150 runes per item.
  1. Find Astray from Caelid Highway North grace on the western side of the Swamp of Aeonia.
  2. Head east toward the cliff overlooking the swamp. Look near the sword monument and the fallen blighted tree for the merchant's camp.
  3. Speak to the merchant and buy Poisoned Stones for 150 runes each. You can use his shop without attacking him.

Notes

  • Throws one stone with Physical impact damage and 100 base Poison buildup. It consumes a stone, costs no FP and can be carried in stacks of up to 20.
  • Strength gives the strongest impact scaling, with smaller Dexterity and Arcane contributions. Arcane also improves the Poison buildup rather than changing it into Scarlet Rot.
  • The enemy must accumulate enough buildup before ordinary Poison begins. A hit is not an instant Poison application, and immune targets cannot be poisoned.
  • Additional buildup does not make the active Poison damage stronger each second. It helps trigger the effect; ordinary Poison's health drain is a separate calculation.
  • Poison and Scarlet Rot can affect a susceptible enemy together. This stone applies Poison, rather than Scarlet Rot, and does not benefit from a seal's casting bonus.
  • The Caelid merchant above western Aeonia sells unlimited stock for 150 runes each. His camp is on the dry cliff, so you do not need to search the middle of the rot swamp.
  • There is no crafting recipe. The poison miners' theme in its description is not a recipe unlocked by a cookbook.
  • Poisoned Stone Clump has a wider five-stone spread with lower buildup per projectile. This single stone is easier to aim when only one narrow target matters.
