Erdtree incantations

In-game description

A superior incantation of Erdtree Worship.

Increase damage negation for all affinities except physical, for both the caster and nearby allies.

Hold to continue praying and delay activation.

In the beginning, everything was in opposition to the Erdtree. But through countless victories in war, it became the embodiment of Order.

Where to find

Scarab on a square stone platform

Altus Plateau

Starting Site of Grace: Road of Iniquity Side Path

  1. Reach Altus Plateau with both Dectus Medallion halves, from Fort Haight and Fort Faroth, or by climbing Ruin-Strewn Precipice and defeating Magma Wyrm Makar.
  2. Follow the road north from Altus Highway Junction, past the map monument, to Forest-Spanning Greatbridge grace. Use the waygate beside the grace to cross to the northern end of the broken bridge.
  3. From the northern end of the broken bridge, descend to Road of Iniquity Side Path below it. Stay in northern Altus rather than following the western mountain road into Mt. Gelmir.
  4. Head southeast from the grace onto the nearby rise. Look for a square stone platform with a scarab on top.
  5. Kill that scarab to receive Protection of the Erdtree. There is no dungeon boss or imp-seal key needed for the pickup.

Notes

  • Reduces incoming Magic, Fire, Lightning and Holy damage by 30% against enemies or 10% against players for 70 seconds. Nearby allies can receive it as well.
  • There is no physical reduction. Ordinary cuts, thrusts and strikes still hurt normally, including physical parts of otherwise elemental attacks.
  • This is a body buff. Other body buffs, including Boiled Crab, Flame, Grant Me Strength and other fortification spells, replace it. Golden Vow is a separate aura and can work alongside it.
  • Its protection is fixed. More Faith or a stronger sacred seal does not increase the percentage, and holding the prayer only delays activation rather than charging a stronger version.
  • This is the broader option for mixed elemental attacks. A dedicated protection such as Barrier of Gold gives a larger reduction against its one element, but replaces this body buff rather than stacking with it.
  • Elemental damage negation does not by itself prevent Poison, Scarlet Rot, Bleed, Frostbite, Sleep or Madness buildup.
  • Old Lord's Talisman extends the duration to 91 seconds. Gather allies close before releasing the prayer.
  • Requires 35 Faith, one memory slot and a sacred seal. Costs 30 FP. Road of Iniquity Side Path in Altus is a different grace from Road of Iniquity on Mt. Gelmir.
