LocationBlack Knife Catacombs

Liurnia of the Lakes

Starting Site of Grace: Black Knife Catacombs

Before you go

  • Bring one Stonesword Key.
  1. Find Black Knife Catacombs at the northeastern end of Liurnia's eastern road, beyond the Uld Palace Ruins. A Mausoleum Knight guards the entrance; you can get inside without defeating him.
  2. From the grace, descend past the locked main boss door and follow the early corridor. Stop at the side doorway sealed by an imp statue before going deeper to the guillotine room.
  3. Spend one Stonesword Key at that statue. Defeat the skeletons inside and loot the corpse for Rosus' Axe; neither catacomb boss must be defeated.

Notes

  • Requires 18 Strength, 10 Dexterity and 18 Intelligence, and weighs 5.5. Strength supplies its strongest Physical scaling, Intelligence improves Magic damage, and Dexterity contributes less.
  • Rosus's Summons costs 15 FP. It brings forth three spectral skeletons, then you strike with the axe as they attack the same area and vanish.
  • The axe hit and skeletons use the weapon's Physical and Magic attack power. The skeletons are not purely Intelligence-scaled sorcery projectiles, so improving the axe's Physical damage also matters.
  • The axe deals 6 stance damage and each skeleton deals 7.5, for 28.5 if all four attacks connect. The skeletons attack a fixed area rather than chasing a quick enemy across the room.
  • Once formed, the skeletons can still finish their attacks if your animation is interrupted. That does not protect you from the interrupting hit or guarantee that the enemy remains in their attack area.
  • Shard of Alexander improves the skill. Physical bonuses improve its Physical portion and Magic bonuses improve its Magic portion; Godfrey Icon does not apply because it cannot be charged.
  • Prince of Death's Staff and Graven talismans do not improve it. This is a weapon skill, distinct from Tibia's Summons and other Death sorceries.
  • The skeletons are temporary skill effects rather than Spirit Ashes. They do not require the Spirit Calling Bell, a rebirth-monument icon or a free Spirit Ash summon slot.
  • It has no innate Death Blight, bleed or life-steal effect. Its death-related appearance does not add an unlisted status or heal you when the skeletons hit.
  • Uses Somber Smithing Stones to +10. The skill and affinity are fixed, and grease or weapon enchantments cannot be applied.
