About this item

A shard of the shattered Elden Ring.

Grants the blessing of an equipped Great Rune upon use.

Even if no Great Rune is equipped, it will slightly increase maximum HP upon use.

The lower arc of the Elden Ring is held to be the basin in which its blessings pool. Perhaps this shard originates from that very arc.

• Have 4,000 runes.
• Have access to Roundtable Hold.

1. Accept Melina's invitation to Roundtable Hold.
2. From the central table, take the hallway toward the Twin Maiden Husks and open their shop.
3. Buy a Rune Arc for 4,000 runes. Their initial stock is five.

Defeating a boss as a cooperator

• Online co-op access.

1. Use Tarnished's Furled Finger or Small Golden Effigy to offer your gold summon sign.
2. When another player summons you, help the host defeat the area's boss and survive to receive your reward.
3. A successful boss victory awards a Rune Arc. You can repeat co-op victories for additional arcs.

Notes

• Activates the Great Rune you have equipped at a Site of Grace. Most Great Runes must first be restored at their matching Divine Tower.
• The active blessing lasts until you die. Resting does not spend another arc, but dying means you need another to reactivate the blessing.
• Without an equipped Great Rune, an arc gives only a small maximum-HP increase. Equip the rune you want before using one.
• It does not permanently add levels or upgrade the Great Rune. Great Rune of the Unborn works for rebirth without consuming an arc.
• Rats can rarely drop Rune Arcs, and there are fixed pickups and other multiplayer rewards. Shop stock is not your only supply.
• Changing to another Great Rune ends the current activation, so choose the one you intend to use before spending an arc. Simply switching runes is not a free way to activate several blessings.
• The Twin Maiden Husks initially sell five for 4,000 runes each. That finite stock does not prevent obtaining more through qualifying multiplayer victories or rare rat drops.
• A successful cooperative boss victory gives one. Invaders can receive one when the host dies, and a hunter can receive one when an invader dies while the hunter is present.
• Using an arc without a Great Rune does not later activate one retroactively. The small standalone HP effect is a separate benefit from any restored rune’s stronger blessing.
