Spiral incantations

In-game description

Superior sorcery of the tower priests, wielded as an incantation of the spiral.

Wrap one's arms together and hold them up to the heavens to summon a spiral of light that erupts at the enemy's feet.

Column of light persists for as long as the button is pressed.

The spiral is a normalized Crucible current that, one day, will form a column that stretches to the gods.

Where to find

Altar on the side platform reached by branches

Enir-Ilim

Starting Site of Grace: First Rise

Before you go

  • To enter the Realm of Shadow, defeat Starscourge Radahn and Mohg, Lord of Blood, then touch the withered arm in Mohg's arena at Mohgwyn Palace.
  • Burn the sealing tree to unlock Enir-Ilim.
  1. Defeat Messmer in Shadow Keep for his kindling and Romina at Church of the Bud in the Ancient Ruins of Rauh.
  2. Finish the companion quest steps you want before burning the Sealing Tree behind Romina with Messmer's Kindling. This advances their quests and carries you to Enir-Ilim: Outer Wall.
  3. From Outer Wall, climb northeast to the large balcony, then southwest up the next stairs. Turn southeast toward the Divine Bird Warrior and enter the building beyond it. Climb the broken ledges and cross the balcony to First Rise grace.
  4. From First Rise, climb through the building and take the southwestern doorway toward the courtyard with the large Inquisitor and the smaller praying enemies.
  5. Start up the courtyard's main stairs, then look for the thick tree branches leading off their side to a separate raised platform. A lone praying Inquisitor guards the altar there.
  6. Cross the branches carefully, clear the guard and loot Spira from the altar. Return along the branches to the main stairs when finished. Leda's battle and the final boss are unnecessary.

Notes

  • Requires 48 Faith and two memory slots. The first pillar costs 10 FP, and continuing to hold the prayer creates more pillars with further 10-FP payments.
  • Creates a Holy eruption beneath the target after a short delay. Each hit has base attack power equal to 160% of Incantation Scaling and deals 3 stance damage.
  • Holding the input continues the sequence rather than charging one stronger release. Godfrey Icon does not improve it.
  • An actively held Spiraltree Seal improves the spell by 20%, including when another seal casts it. Two active copies give 44% together.
  • Holy damage and incantation bonuses apply. Magic-only bonuses and Shard of Alexander do not improve this incantation.
  • It needs a clear line to the target to place the eruption. The delayed pillar can miss an enemy that moves away, even when the targeting point was directly beneath it at first.
  • The pillar reaches upward and can catch a raised head, but that does not make every large target take several contacts from one eruption.
  • Keep enough FP and stamina to end the prayer and defend yourself. Continuing to hold it against a fast-moving target can spend resources on empty ground.
  • The altar is on the side platform reached by branches above Enir-Ilim's First Rise courtyard. Burning the Sealing Tree opens the area; reaching the final boss is unnecessary.
