It is the maddening pain and unstoppable tears of those afflicted with the flame of frenzy brought into being.
Where to find
Yelough Anix Ruins cellar
Consecrated Snowfield
Starting Site of Grace: Yelough Anix Tunnel
- Obtain the right Haligtree Secret Medallion half from Albus in the Village of the Albinaurics. He is disguised as a pot on the uphill path, before the bridge leading toward the Omenkiller.
- Obtain the left half from the tower beyond Commander Niall at Castle Sol in the northern Mountaintops. After winning, continue behind his arena, ride the lift and loot the rooftop corpse.
- Return to Grand Lift of Rold with both halves and switch to the secret-medallion prompt. The ordinary Rold Medallion sends you to a different destination.
- Take the main stairs through Hidden Path to the Haligtree and leave into Consecrated Snowfield. Continue north through the blizzard, following the road toward Inner Consecrated Snowfield, then on to Ordina, Liturgical Town.
- From Inner Consecrated Snowfield, travel southwest to Yelough Anix Ruins. These ruins are on the surface above the separate Yelough Anix Tunnel dungeon.
- Search the western building in the southern group of ruins for the enclosed cellar stairs. Use Torrent to jump over the ruined wall into the enclosure.
- Go down the stairs and open the chest for Unendurable Frenzy. Astel in Yelough Anix Tunnel and the ruins' other enemies are unnecessary for this chest.
Notes
- Requires 31 Faith and one memory slot. The initial cast costs 22 FP, then holding the input spends additional FP in 6-FP upkeep payments.
- Continuously sprays Fire bolts while you channel. It can be used while moving, but it still spends stamina and builds Madness on you.
- Each bolt has base attack power equal to 125% of Incantation Scaling, deals 5 stance damage and applies 40 base enemy Madness buildup. Your own buildup accumulates separately as more bolts are emitted.
- Releasing the input produces a final uncontrolled burst and recovery animation. It does not stop instantly into a safe dodge, so leave time to finish before the enemy's next attack.
- Madness primarily affects players and eligible human NPCs. Ordinary creatures and most bosses are immune to the status, although the spell's direct damage can still hurt them.
- An actively held Frenzied Flame Seal boosts this spell's damage by 20%, including when another seal casts it. Two active copies give 44% together. This damage bonus does not multiply the Madness buildup.
- Dragon Communion Seal can use Arcane to improve Madness buildup on the enemy. Raising Arcane with a seal that has no Arcane scaling does not give the same benefit, and the buildup inflicted on yourself remains separate.
- Fire and incantation bonuses improve the damage. Godfrey Icon does not improve it because holding a channel is different from charging a release.
- Cerulean Hidden Tear can remove the FP drain for its own duration, but does not remove stamina use, self-inflicted Madness or the vulnerable finish.
- The wide spray can hit a large enemy repeatedly. A small or mobile target can avoid much of it, and an enemy that resists stagger may attack through the channel.
