Acid Spraymist

Aromatic

An enemy reached by the mist deals 15% less physical damage for 60 seconds. This does not lower its magic, fire, lightning or holy damage. It shares a debuff group with the moon spells and Greyoll's Roar, so a replacement in that group removes this effect.

In-game description

Forbidden art of depraved perfumers.

Craftable with a perfume bottle.

Uses FP to release an acidic mist from user's mouth, damaging armaments and temporarily lowering attack power.

Perfumed powder is held in the mouth to dissolve before being expelled. It was once a restorative art, or so it is said.

Where to find

Crafting after obtaining Perfumer's Cookbook [4]

Ainsel River

Starting Site of Grace: Ainsel River Downstream

Before you go

  • Crafting Kit
  • Perfumer's Cookbook [4]
  • Empty Perfume Bottle
  • Ingredients per batch: 1 Altus Bloom, 1 Miranda Powder and 4 Formic Rock
  • 3,000 runes
  1. On eastern Liurnia's plateau, head north from Eastern Tableland to the round Ainsel River Well building. Ride the lift down and activate Ainsel River Well Depths grace.
  2. Take the tunnel on the left toward the giant ants. Watch the ceiling as well as the floor; drawing them down one at a time is safer than being surrounded beneath them.
  3. At the first lit junction, turn right. The left branch ends at a Smithing Stone pickup rather than the route onward.
  4. At the next split in the chamber full of corpses, take the right branch toward the large stone structure. Climb the path on the right and cross the bridge back to the left.
  5. Activate Ainsel River Sluice Gate grace in the cave ahead before using the lift directly to the right of the bridge's far end. Ride that lift down instead of jumping from the upper ruins.
  6. Follow the lower ruins through the Claymen and the lit entrance into the large open chamber. A hanging creature at the far end fires stones across this room.
  7. Use the stone walls and pillars as cover while approaching the building directly beneath that creature. The Hermit Merchant is sheltering inside; killing the creature is optional.
  8. Choose Purchase and buy Perfumer's Cookbook [4] for 3,000 runes. The nearby corpse holds the region map, which is a separate pickup.
  9. This is the lower Ainsel merchant reached from Liurnia's well. You do not need to serve Ranni or fight the Dragonkin Soldier to buy the book.
  10. Buy the Crafting Kit from Kalé at Church of Elleh for 300 runes if Item Crafting is still unavailable.
  11. Collect 1 Altus Bloom, 1 Miranda Powder and 4 Formic Rock and bring an empty Perfume Bottle. Outside combat, open Item Crafting and select Acid Spraymist. One batch makes 1.

Notes

  • Enemies caught in the mist deal 15% less physical damage for 60 seconds. It does not reduce the Magic, Fire, Lightning or Holy portions of their attacks.
  • This is an attack debuff on the target, rather than extra protection that follows you regardless of which enemy attacks. It does not permanently break a weapon or lower your opponent's armor.
  • Shares an attack-debuff category with Greyoll's Roar. Do not multiply both attack reductions together as if they were independent effects.
  • The mist needs to reach the enemy. Move close enough for the cloud and use a safe opening; an opponent outside its short reach receives no debuff.
  • Perfumer's Talisman does not turn the reduction into a stronger debuff. The spray does not deal an ordinary damaging perfume hit.
  • Costs 13 FP and one prepared mixture. Each craft spends four Formic Rock, as well as Altus Bloom and Miranda Powder, so this is an expensive way to weaken a single short-lived target.
  • Needs an empty Perfume Bottle. Using the mixture frees that bottle for another recipe, while the ingredients are spent. All prepared aromatic types share your collected bottle supply; the DLC perfume weapons are separate equipment.
