Effects

Reduces incoming physical damage by 40%. Lasts 40 seconds. Replaces the current body buff. Replaced buffs do not return when this one ends.

Increases incoming lightning damage by 60%. Lasts 40 seconds. Replaces the current body buff. Replaced buffs do not return when this one ends.

For 40 seconds, eligible weapon attacks bounce when their actual repel attack power is below 90. This does not block the hit or prevent its HP damage. Attacks that bypass weapon deflection do not bounce, and two-handed or stronger attacks must be checked using their own repel value.

While the 40-second effect is active, incoming damage levels 0, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8 and 11 use the no-stagger replacement. These are alternative incoming attack levels, not conditions that must all occur together. Throws and the separate stronger-reaction replacement are not covered by this component.

Changes supported knockback, slam and launch reactions into a large stagger instead. It does not remove the damage from those hits or protect against throws. This is separate from the aromatic's weapon-deflection effect. The receiving state must permit reaction replacement; a state that bypasses replacement keeps its original reaction.

In-game description

Forbidden art of depraved perfumers.

Craftable with a perfume bottle.

Uses FP to temporarily turn body to steel, boosting poise, resistances and damage negation at the expense of mobility and lightning resistance.

An art that requires fragments of hunted noble jars. Depraved perfumers are plainly in league with jar poachers.

Where to find

Crafting after collecting Perfumer's Cookbook [3]

Capital Outskirts

Starting Site of Grace: Auriza Side Tomb

Before you go

  • Crafting Kit
  • Perfumer's Cookbook [3]
  • Ingredients: two Altus Blooms, one Budding Cave Moss and three Living Jar Shards
  • Empty Perfume Bottle
  1. From Outer Wall Battleground outside Leyndell, ride east and take the lower southeastern path beneath the bridge toward the capital. Follow the low ground north, keeping clear of the Runebear in the wooded area.
  2. Find Auriza Side Tomb in the northern cliff. Auriza Hero's Grave is the separate entrance farther south. Enter the side tomb and activate its grace.
  3. Descend past the locked boss doors, then continue northeast down the stairs through the small jars. Yellow-topped jars explode, so clear them from a distance or retreat when they rush.
  4. At the end of the initial route, open the chest and remain in its mist to be transported. From the similar room where you arrive, go straight down the stairs and then down the next flight.
  5. Clear the imps in the lower chamber. Take its southwestern doorway down into the watery room, then turn right beneath the platform and use the northwestern passage.
  6. In the next room, watch for the imp immediately on the left and the one throwing projectiles from above. Open the main chest at the far end of the carpet, rather than the separate chest behind the illusory side wall.
  7. This chest brings you behind the prison bars with two large Living Jars. Defeat or avoid them and collect Perfumer's Cookbook (3) from the corpse. The two Cracked Pots are separate pickups.
  8. Use the chest in this enclosed room to return. You do not need the boss lever or Grave Warden Duelist for the cookbook. If you have already used other chests, matching rooms can belong to different versions of the tomb, so start this sequence again from the entrance grace.
  9. Buy the Crafting Kit from Kale if Item Crafting is unavailable.
  10. Collect two Altus Blooms, one Budding Cave Moss and three Living Jar Shards, and bring an empty Perfume Bottle. Open Item Crafting outside combat and make Ironjar Aromatic.

Notes

  • Costs 18 FP and one prepared aromatic to turn your body to iron for 40 seconds. Physical damage taken is reduced by 40%, and many ordinary attacks are less able to stagger you.
  • The effect slows movement, gives you heavy dodges and increases Lightning damage taken by 60%. Keep those drawbacks in mind before using it against an enemy with Lightning attacks.
  • Some lighter enemy weapon hits bounce off the iron body, but large attacks can still knock you down or launch you. You still take damage, and the effect does not make every trade safe.
  • While active, it adds 45 resistance to poison, rot, blood loss, frost, sleep, Madness and Death Blight buildup. This raises the amount of buildup needed to trigger those effects; it does not cure an ailment already affecting you.
  • Its active iron effect occupies the body-buff slot and keeps refreshing that restriction. An ordinary second body buff cannot simply be added on top. Perfumer's Talisman does not improve its defensive effect.
  • Perfumer's Cookbook (3) unlocks the recipe. One craft makes one from two Altus Blooms, one Budding Cave Moss, three Living Jar Shards and an empty Perfume Bottle.
  • Using it frees the Perfume Bottle for another mixture, but spends the aromatic and its ingredients. Other prepared perfumes share your available bottles.
