Perfumed powder is held in the mouth to dissolve before being expelled. It was once a restorative art, or so it is said.

1. From Erdtree-Gazing Hill in Altus Plateau, ride east down into the valley, then follow it north between the cliffs. Stay on the lower ground rather than climbing toward Mt. Gelmir's campsites.
2. Continue through the narrow gap until the Shaded Castle appears in its poison swamp. Use the rocks beside the broken southern wall to climb inside, then follow the wall right to Shaded Castle Ramparts grace.
3. Drop into the lower courtyard and head toward the center, keeping out of the poison where you can. At the next open area, climb the ladder on the raised platform to the right, beside a Wraith Caller.
4. At the top, turn left toward the opening into the next courtyard. Cross using the roofs and raised stonework where possible, then enter the building opposite for Shaded Castle Inner Gate grace.
5. Continue forward and climb the ladder on the left. Deal with the dogs at the top and enter the room on the right, watching for the Page with a crossbow among the other enemies.
6. Inside the room with the Page, find the ladder in the southeastern corner. Climb to the small roof and loot the seated corpse for the cookbook.
7. Return down the ladder to continue toward Elemer, or leave after the pickup. The castle boss is not required for this book.
8. Buy the Crafting Kit from Kalé at Church of Elleh for 300 runes if Item Crafting is still unavailable.
9. Collect 1 Altus Bloom, 1 Miranda Powder and 1 Poisonbloom and bring an empty Perfume Bottle. Outside combat, open Item Crafting and select Poison Spraymist. One batch makes 1.

Notes

• Breathes a short cloud that builds Poison on enemies remaining inside it. Its base buildup is 26 per qualifying contact and improves with Arcane; that is buildup, rather than 26 direct damage.
• Once triggered, its deadly poison deals 0.21% of the target's maximum HP plus 21 HP per second for 30 seconds, before any special target adjustments. That totals 6.3% of maximum HP plus 630 if it runs for the full duration.
• That is the same total as ordinary player-inflicted Poison over its full 90 seconds, delivered three times as quickly. It is also a different poison strength from Venomous Fang or Serpentbone Blade.
• Arcane helps fill the meter sooner; it does not increase the fixed health-drain formula after the poison triggers. Immune targets cannot be poisoned by adding more Arcane.
• The spray does not deal an ordinary physical or elemental hit. Perfumer's Talisman does not strengthen the Poison buildup or the damage over time.
• Costs 12 FP and one mixture. Keep the target in the cloud, but leave enough room to avoid its retaliation during the breathing animation.
• Needs an empty Perfume Bottle. Using the mixture frees that bottle for another recipe, while the ingredients are spent. All prepared aromatic types share your collected bottle supply; the DLC perfume weapons are separate equipment.
