About this item

Spends 27 FP to spray spirit vapor onto the ground. The head is reusable, so the use spends FP without consuming the item.

Intelligence improves the vapor's damage. Upgrading a glintstone staff in your other hand does not improve this tool's scaling, and you do not need to memorize it as a sorcery.

Shining Horned Headband increases its damage by 20% while worn. The rest of the Shaman outfit adds no further vapor bonus.

In-game description

Skull of a very young ancestral spirit. Just think how many sproutings It might bear.

Uses FP to spray spirit vapor inflicting magic damage.

The vapor becomes a temporary geyser which deals continuous damage to everything it touches until it disappears.

Where to find

Chest in the flooded northern ruins

Nokron, Eternal City

Starting Site of Grace: Ancestral Woods

  1. Defeat Starscourge Radahn, then travel to southern Mistwood near Fort Haight. Find the new crater marked by floating rocks and descend carefully using its ledges to enter Nokron.
  2. Cross the rooftops into the city streets and continue down to the Mimic Tear arena. Defeat the Mimic Tear and take the long bridge beyond it.
  3. Leave the bridge on its left side where it meets the woodland. Follow the cliff edge to Ancestral Woods grace, overlooking the roofs of Night's Sacred Ground. Stay in the woods rather than jumping onto those roofs for this pickup.
  4. From Ancestral Woods, head northwest toward the flooded ruins and the broken temple guarded by a shaman. Stay on the solid banks; the surrounding deep water is a lethal fall rather than a swimming route.
  5. Use Torrent to jump from the adjoining ledge onto the southwestern corner of the ruined structure, then drop inside. Deal with the shaman and open the chest for Ancestral Infant's Head.
  6. The chest is separate from the singing shaman's headband reward and from Regal Ancestor Spirit. Neither the ancestral brazier puzzle nor that boss fight is required.

Notes

  • Spends 27 FP to spray spirit vapor onto the ground. The head is reusable, so the use spends FP without consuming the item.
  • Intelligence improves the vapor's damage. Upgrading a glintstone staff in your other hand does not improve this tool's scaling, and you do not need to memorize it as a sorcery.
  • Shining Horned Headband increases its damage by 20% while worn. The rest of the Shaman outfit adds no further vapor bonus.
  • The vapor stays close to the ground and deals repeated hits to enemies remaining in it. A target that moves out of the patch avoids later hits, so place it where an enemy will stay rather than treating it as a long-range projectile.
  • Using the tool takes time. Create the patch before the enemy reaches you or while it is distracted, rather than expecting the spray to interrupt every incoming attack.
  • It is a tool, not a Spirit Ash, and needs no rebirth monument. Its fixed chest pickup does not require Regal Ancestor Spirit's defeat.
  • Magic damage bonuses can improve its spirit vapor, but Graven talismans and a stronger staff do not turn it into a sorcery. Its item damage uses its own calculation.
  • The spray is useful when a target remains inside the patch. It is not a summon that chases an enemy or fights independently after moving out of the vapor.
  • The fixed chest is in upper Nokron. The lower Siofra River arena and its eight-brazier ancestor puzzle are different locations.
