About this item

Binds Mohg, Lord of Blood to the ground for about 5 seconds. It also works against Mohg, the Omen in Leyndell's sewers.

Works twice per encounter and stops binding Lord of Blood after he enters the second phase. It cannot interrupt Bloodboon Ritual, the transition attack accompanied by the repeated Nihil chant.

It does not replace Purifying Crystal Tear. That tear protects against the ritual's curse damage; the shackle creates earlier openings to attack or heal.

In-game description

A fetish bathed in golden magic.

Shackles were used to bind the accursed people called the Omen, and these ones were made to keep a particular Omen under strictest confinement.

Though faint, the shackles still retain vestiges of power—enough to trap the once-bound Mohg on earth, if only for a short time.

Where to find

Drainage outlet in the Giant Crayfish chamber

Subterranean Shunning-Grounds

Starting Site of Grace: Underground Roadside

  1. In Leyndell, Royal Capital, start at Avenue Balcony. Descend the northwestern stairs and go through the door. Follow the railing west, then drop left onto the lower rooftops.
  2. Drop off the right side of the roof, turn back north and find the well behind the broken wall. Climb its ladder, open the gate in the lower passage and take the next ladder down.
  3. Follow the damp corridor northeast into the rat-filled sewer entrance. Go through the southeastern doorway and descend the ladder into the large Omen hallway.
  4. Head northeast along the hallway and enter the first room on the left, opposite the summoning statue. Activate Underground Roadside grace.
  5. Leave Underground Roadside and turn southeast. Descend the ladder against the right wall, then go through the arch to the pipe chamber.
  6. Step onto the pipe in front of the doorway and deal with the Imps ahead and hanging overhead. Follow it up to the first wooden platform, clearing the Imp that runs toward you.
  7. Look below the wooden platform for the lower pipe. Drop onto it first, then down to the sewer floor. Do not jump directly from the high entrance.
  8. Two Giant Crayfish occupy the lower chamber. Head southwest to the opening in the wall past the second one, then take the stairs down to Leyndell Catacombs grace if you need a safe checkpoint.
  9. Return to the crayfish chamber and look along the southeastern wall for water pouring from a drainage outlet. Loot the body on the muck beside it for Mohg's Shackle. Killing either crayfish is unnecessary if you can reach the pickup safely.

Same sewer pickup after the capital changes

Subterranean Shunning-Grounds

Starting Site of Grace: Underground Roadside

  1. If Leyndell has already become the Ashen Capital, start at Leyndell, Capital of Ash grace and head southwest to the uncovered sewer hole.
  2. Descend onto the broken wooden planks, then the platform below. Use the small hole in that platform to drop carefully onto the lower wooden beam instead of falling straight down the shaft.
  3. Drop from the beam onto the adjacent lower platform and enter the sewer hallway. Find the Underground Roadside room and activate its grace.
  4. Leave Underground Roadside and turn southeast. Descend the ladder against the right wall, then go through the arch to the pipe chamber.
  5. Step onto the pipe in front of the doorway and deal with the Imps ahead and hanging overhead. Follow it up to the first wooden platform, clearing the Imp that runs toward you.
  6. Look below the wooden platform for the lower pipe. Drop onto it first, then down to the sewer floor. Do not jump directly from the high entrance.
  7. Two Giant Crayfish occupy the lower chamber. Head southwest to the opening in the wall past the second one, then take the stairs down to Leyndell Catacombs grace if you need a safe checkpoint.
  8. Return to the crayfish chamber and look along the southeastern wall for water pouring from a drainage outlet. Loot the body on the muck beside it for Mohg's Shackle. Killing either crayfish is unnecessary if you can reach the pickup safely.

Notes

  • Binds Mohg, Lord of Blood to the ground for about 5 seconds. It also works against Mohg, the Omen in Leyndell's sewers.
  • Works twice per encounter and stops binding Lord of Blood after he enters the second phase. It cannot interrupt Bloodboon Ritual, the transition attack accompanied by the repeated Nihil chant.
  • It does not replace Purifying Crystal Tear. That tear protects against the ritual's curse damage; the shackle creates earlier openings to attack or heal.
  • Reusable and costs no FP. The boss limit resets for another attempt, and the tool remains in your inventory after use.
  • Its surrounding pulse can interact with nearby illusory walls, catacomb trap pillars and spiritspring seals. It does not make ordinary enemies take damage or stun every Omen.
  • The corpse is in the Giant Crayfish chamber before the sewer boss. Neither Mohg encounter needs to be defeated to obtain it.
  • The sewers remain accessible after Leyndell changes. Use the Ashen Capital's open sewer shaft if the earlier well approach is no longer available.
