About this item
Spends 6 FP to disguise you as an object drawn from the area's scenery. The veil itself is reusable; the FP is paid when you activate the disguise.
You can move slowly while disguised, but movement can reveal you to enemies or make the object obvious to another player. Remaining still helps you blend in; it does not remove your character's collision or make you invulnerable.
Taking damage, attacking, rolling, jumping or using an item ends the disguise. It is a way to approach or hide, not a form that lets you fight normally while concealed.

In-game description
Golden veil of intricate design.
Uses FP to mimic nearby objects.
When Godrick was hounded from Leyndell, the Royal Capital, this was one of a multitude of treasures he took with him. Also known as "Marika's Mischief."
Where to find
Chest in a Banished Knight's room
Stormveil Castle
Starting Site of Grace: Rampart Tower
- Reach Rampart Tower through Stormveil's cliffside entrance and Rusty Key route. From its grace, go outside to the rampart with the explosive-barrel Warhawks.
- Pass the birds, descend the steps and use the chapel roof and window route to the room where Rogier first appears. Leave the chapel and continue through the connecting castle rooms toward the Grafted Scion's large dining hall.
- Before dropping to the Scion's floor, search the adjoining upper room patrolled by a Banished Knight. Clear or draw away the knight and open the chest for Mimic's Veil.
- This is a chest above the dining hall, separate from the earlier dark-room chest containing Curved Sword Talisman. Killing the Grafted Scion or Godrick is unnecessary for the veil.
Notes
- Spends 6 FP to disguise you as an object drawn from the area's scenery. The veil itself is reusable; the FP is paid when you activate the disguise.
- You can move slowly while disguised, but movement can reveal you to enemies or make the object obvious to another player. Remaining still helps you blend in; it does not remove your character's collision or make you invulnerable.
- Taking damage, attacking, rolling, jumping or using an item ends the disguise. It is a way to approach or hide, not a form that lets you fight normally while concealed.
- It can help against enemy sight-based detection as well as players. Do not treat it as immunity to a hazard already touching you, an ongoing attack, poison water or a Death Blight cloud.
- In multiplayer, the disguise is scenery rather than true invisibility. An object in the wrong place, moving furniture or an opponent checking suspicious objects can expose you.
- The selected object changes with location; you do not choose any creature or copy another player's equipment. Mimic Tear Ashes and Silver-Pickled Fowl Foot have entirely different uses.
- There is no fixed countdown forcing it to end while you remain concealed. Plan how to leave the disguise safely, since the action used to break it can reveal you before your next attack.
