In-game description
Greataxe wielded by Godrick the Grafted. This golden battleaxe is emblazoned with the figure of a beast, representing the strength of Godfrey, First Elden Lord and patriarch of the golden lineage.
"I command thee kneel! For I am the lord of all that is golden!"
Skill
Repeatedly smash the Axe of Godrick into the ground, unleashing two earth-shaking shockwaves. Follow up with an additional input to produce a third shockwave.
Where to find
Limgrave
Starting Site of Grace: Secluded Cell
Before you go
- Defeat Godrick the Grafted and keep the Remembrance of the Grafted.
- Follow Stormveil's cliffside entrance through the ramparts to Rampart Tower, then continue through the castle toward the courtyard guarded by soldiers and a troll.
- At the upper end of the courtyard, go right into the small room containing Secluded Cell. Rest here before entering the nearby fog gate.
- Defeat Godrick through both phases to receive the remembrance automatically. The dragon-head phase is part of the same fight.
- Return to Table of Lost Grace in Roundtable Hold and go through the large doors to the Two Fingers' chamber. Speak to Finger Reader Enia and open the remembrance exchange menu.
- Select Axe of Godrick from Enia's remembrance exchange. Grafted Dragon is the alternative. Use a compatible remembrance duplication if you want both rewards during the same journey.
Notes
- Requires 34 Strength and 22 Dexterity, and weighs 11. It deals Physical damage, with substantial scaling from both Strength and Dexterity and a somewhat stronger Strength coefficient.
- Two-handing meets the Strength requirement at 23 Strength, but still requires the full 22 Dexterity. Investing in both attributes can suit the weapon instead of treating Dexterity as only an entry requirement.
- I Command Thee Kneel! costs 15 FP for two axe smashes and their shockwaves. Another skill input adds the third smash for 15 FP, making the whole sequence 30 FP.
- The axe contacts and shockwaves use the weapon's Physical attack power. The shocks are not a separate Faith or Intelligence spell.
- The weapon contact and shockwave can connect separately at close range, so being beside the target gives more pressure than clipping it only with the outer shock.
- The final shockwave is larger and stronger, but adds a long commitment. Stop after the initial pair when the enemy is already preparing to retaliate.
- Shard of Alexander improves the skill. Godfrey Icon does not because it cannot be charged, and Roar Medallion does not boost it merely because the skill name is a shouted command.
- The skill slams the axe rather than stomping with a foot. Foot-attack bonuses do not apply just because it creates a ground shockwave.
- Uses Somber Smithing Stones to +10. Its skill and affinity are fixed, and grease or weapon enchantments cannot be applied.
- Godrick at Stormveil gives the correct remembrance. Restoring Godrick's Great Rune at its Divine Tower is a separate task and is unnecessary for the axe exchange.
