About this spirit

Costs 100 FP and summons a Banished Knight with a halberd and storm attacks.

His sweeping attacks can catch several nearby targets, and his storm moves can knock down enemies vulnerable to that reaction.

His armor lets him stay in melee, but the longer halberd swings still leave openings. He cannot be relied on to stagger every boss before it hits him.

In-game description

Ashen remains in which spirits yet dwell.

Use to summon the spirit of Engvall, the Banished Knight.

One of the two knights dubbed the Wings of the Storm. Despite his banishment, he rejected the invitation of the Grace-Given Lord, instead keeping watch over a masterless castle for many years, gaining renown as a hero of the fringes.

Where to find

Murkwater Catacombs Grave Warden Duelist

Limgrave

Starting Site of Grace: Murkwater Catacombs

  1. Enter the ravine north of Agheel Lake and follow the river all the way to its northern dead end. Murkwater Catacombs is here, separate from Patches's Murkwater Cave farther south.
  2. Activate the grace, descend the stairs and deal with the Imps in the first rooms.
  3. Continue straight to the statue room. Avoid the pressure plate that fires arrows and pull the lever beneath the statue.
  4. Return to the corridor and take the left stairs toward the now-open boss doors. Watch for the second pressure plate.
  5. Defeat the Grave Warden Duelist for Banished Knight Engvall.

Notes

  • Costs 100 FP and summons a Banished Knight with a halberd and storm attacks.
  • His sweeping attacks can catch several nearby targets, and his storm moves can knock down enemies vulnerable to that reaction.
  • His armor lets him stay in melee, but the longer halberd swings still leave openings. He cannot be relied on to stagger every boss before it hits him.
  • Engvall uses a different weapon and moveset from Oleg's paired swords. Owning one does not replace the other's separate ashes.
  • Upgrade him with Ghost Glovewort. Have the full 100 FP available when summoning, rather than relying only on how many flasks remain.
  • Murkwater Catacombs' Grave Warden Duelist awards him. Patches's Murkwater Cave farther down the ravine is a different dungeon.
