About this spirit
Costs 132 FP and summons an agile Black Knife Assassin. Her dagger uses physical slash or pierce attacks with holy damage, while Blade of Death's projectile deals holy damage.
Blade of Death also temporarily lowers the target's maximum HP and causes damage over time. That percentage-based component makes her useful against a large health pool even when holy damage is resisted.
Her Blade of Death debuff does not stack as a second identical effect with the player's Black Knife skill. Using both is not a way to double that same maximum-HP reduction.

In-game description
Legendary ashen remains.
Use to summon the spirit of Black Knife Tiche.
Tiche was one of the assassins who, on the night of the plot, imbued her black knife with the Rune of Death and slew Godwyn the Golden. She was the daughter of the Black Knife Ringleader, Alecto, and was killed protecting her mother during their flight from the royal capital.
Where to find
Alecto in Ringleader's Evergaol
Liurnia of the Lakes
Starting Site of Grace: Moonlight Altar
Before you go
- Reach Moonlight Altar through Ranni's quest.
- Reach the western Liurnia road and follow it north through Kingsrealm Ruins. Strike the illusory wall blocking the road at the northern end, then continue past Iji at Road to the Manor.
- Ride toward the large manor while avoiding the magical strikes falling along the approach. Activate Main Caria Manor Gate grace at the entrance.
- Inside, follow the courtyard path northwest toward the building in the far corner. Fingercreepers hide among the plants and beneath the ground; do not stop on a buried hand.
- Enter the building with the seated spirit and climb its stairs to Manor Lower Level grace.
- Take the elevated walkways east and continue straight along the main route at the first junction. Spectral soldiers appear along the bridges. Reach the far building and take its lift up to Manor Upper Level.
- Leave the upper grace, pass the wolves in the garden and climb the main stone stairway toward the Troll Knight and sorcerers.
- Continue up the stairs beyond the troll and Pages to the large circular courtyard. Defeat Royal Knight Loretta, then activate Royal Moongazing Grounds grace.
- Leave through the rear exit into Three Sisters. Ranni's Rise is the western tower; climb to Ranni and agree to serve her.
- Speak to the servant projections downstairs, including Seluvis, then return to finish Ranni's conversation. Go to Seluvis's Rise, the tower southwest of hers.
- Defeat Starscourge Radahn at the Radahn Festival in Redmane Castle. His defeat opens the starfall crater in Limgrave; it is not the sealed Siofra River overlook reached from the Four Belfries.
- Return to the Mistwood near Fort Haight and find the new crater marked by floating rocks. Use the descending ledges and openings to enter Nokron, Eternal City.
- Follow the rooftops down into Nokron's streets, then continue to the Mimic Tear boss. Defeat it and cross the long bridge beyond the arena.
- Leave the bridge on the left where it opens into woodland. Follow the western cliff to Ancestral Woods grace, overlooking the lower rooftops.
- From beside the grace, drop to the roof below. Follow the roofs and narrow building ledges, fighting or avoiding the Silver Tears, until you can cross the broken stone arch into the large church.
- Descend to the church's lower floor and watch the enormous rolling ball. Leave through the main doorway and go down to Night's Sacred Ground grace.
- Follow the lower street past the Silver Tears toward the enormous seated skeleton. Climb the stairs below its throne and open the chest for Fingerslayer Blade. The nearby locked side room for Mimic Tear Ashes is not needed for this chest.
- Return the blade to Ranni at her tower. Before doing this, finish any remaining Seluvis rewards you want. Rest after speaking to Ranni, then visit Renna's Rise, the northern tower in Three Sisters. Climb it and use the sending gate to Ainsel River Main.
- Collect Miniature Ranni from the coffin near where you arrive. Rest at Ainsel River Main and select Talk to miniature Ranni repeatedly until she answers. Finish her dialogue.
- Follow the river through Uhl Palace Ruins, using cover against the hanging creature's projectiles. Continue through the ant tunnel to Nokstella. Follow the river at ground level through the city and take the lift in the small building at the far end to Nokstella Waterfall Basin.
- From Nokstella Waterfall Basin, pass through the Basilisk tunnel into the red-lit clearing. Defeat the Baleful Shadow and finish Ranni's response to receive Discarded Palace Key.
- Return to Raya Lucaria Grand Library after defeating Rennala. Open the locked chest beside her with Discarded Palace Key and collect Dark Moon Ring.
- Return to Nokstella Waterfall Basin and pass the Basilisk tunnel to the clearing where the Baleful Shadow fought. Continue beyond it to the lift down to Lake of Rot Shoreside.
- From the shore, look southwest for the first small obelisk. Run to its floor button to raise dry platforms, then continue south across them. Watch for Basilisks emerging beside the path.
- From the southwestern end of those platforms, cross to the next obelisk southwest and press its button. Stop on dry ground to treat Scarlet Rot or restore HP before continuing.
- Look toward the enormous doorway on the lake's southern side. Cross the remaining stretches toward that entrance, using exposed stone for breaks. Avoid rolling in the rot, which coats you and keeps buildup going after you leave it.
- Enter the large doorway and follow the stairs down to Grand Cloister grace. Activate it before returning for nearby lake loot. The Dragonkin Soldier and the raised Alabaster Lord area are optional detours.
- From Grand Cloister grace, go down the stairs and toward the end of the platform to the northwest. Jump west to the narrow ledge, turn left and cross the gap to its southern section.
- At that gap, use the lower ledge below rather than trying to jump straight to the ground. Continue south around the corner and descend the stone ledges westward in stages.
- At the bottom, use the columns as cover from the Kindred of Rot. They can fire tracking threads while you are on the ledges, so clear space before stepping into the open.
- Follow the dry ground west toward the group worshiping at the shrine. The eastern dead-end branch can awaken an Ulcerated Tree Spirit and is unnecessary for the dagger.
- Follow the rot river toward the southern waterfall and rest in the stone coffin at its brink. Continue from its destination and defeat Astel, Naturalborn of the Void.
- With Dark Moon Ring in your inventory, pass through the sealed passage beyond Astel and ride the lift up. Activate Moonlight Altar grace on the plateau.
- From Moonlight Altar, ride northwest across the plateau toward the cliffs and Ringleader's Evergaol. The plateau cannot be climbed directly from the lake below.
- Stand in the evergaol circle and enter. No Stonesword Key is needed, but Spirit Ashes and player summons cannot join this fight.
- Defeat Alecto, Black Knife Ringleader, to receive Tiche automatically. Alecto is a different enemy from the assassin outside Sainted Hero's Grave who drops Black Knife.
Notes
- Costs 132 FP and summons an agile Black Knife Assassin. Her dagger uses physical slash or pierce attacks with holy damage, while Blade of Death's projectile deals holy damage.
- Blade of Death also temporarily lowers the target's maximum HP and causes damage over time. That percentage-based component makes her useful against a large health pool even when holy damage is resisted.
- Her Blade of Death debuff does not stack as a second identical effect with the player's Black Knife skill. Using both is not a way to double that same maximum-HP reduction.
- Her mobility helps compensate for a smaller health pool. Broad explosions, sustained pressure and attacks that catch her recovery can still kill her.
- Upgrade her with Ghost Glovewort. Her attack strength belongs to the spirit and its upgrades, rather than using your Faith just because your own Black Knife projectile scales with Faith.
- Tiche is one of the six legendary ashen remains for the related achievement. Alecto awards her in Ringleader's Evergaol, which must be completed without Spirit Ashes or player help.
- The maximum-HP reduction is 10% for 15 seconds. The projectile also applies a separate five-second health drain; these are different effects from the Holy damage of its impact.
- Landing the effect again refreshes it rather than adding another identical 10% reduction. The target's large HP pool is what makes the health-based part valuable, rather than your character's Faith.
- She must actually hit the target with the relevant attack. Her presence alone does not apply a permanent aura that removes enemy HP.
- Upgrade through Roderika to +10 using Ghost Glovewort and a Great Ghost Glovewort for the final level. The summoning cost stays the same.
- Needs Spirit Calling Bell, enough available FP and the rebirth-monument icon that permits spirit summoning. The ash remains reusable, but a defeated summon cannot simply be replaced during the same encounter.
