About this item

Adds 30 base Blood Loss buildup for 60 seconds. This is status buildup rather than 30 extra points of immediate damage, and the target's meter must fill before Hemorrhage triggers.

A compatible weapon with innate bleed can combine that native buildup with the coating. A Blood-affinity weapon normally cannot use grease, so changing to Blood affinity is a different setup.

Arcane can improve the added bleed only when the compatible weapon itself has Arcane scaling. Ripple Blade and Ripple Crescent Halberd are unusual buffable examples; extra Arcane does not improve the coating on an ordinary Keen weapon.

Where to find

Crafting after obtaining Nomadic Warrior's Cookbook [6]

Limgrave

Starting Site of Grace: Fort Haight West

Before you go

  • Crafting Kit
  • Nomadic Warrior's Cookbook [6]
  • Ingredients per batch: 1 Root Resin and 1 Bloodrose
  1. Ride east from Fort Haight West and climb the approach to the fort, watching the soldiers and Pumpkin Head.
  2. Enter the gate and climb the first set of stairs inside.
  3. Before climbing the tall tower, enter the dark room off the stairway.
  4. Loot the cookbook inside. The medallion half is in a different chest farther up the tower.
  5. Buy the Crafting Kit from Kalé at Church of Elleh for 300 runes if Item Crafting is unavailable. With the book and kit owned, open Item Crafting outside combat.
  6. Collect 1 Root Resin and 1 Bloodrose, then open Item Crafting outside combat and select Blood Grease. One batch makes 1.

Notes

  • Adds 30 base Blood Loss buildup for 60 seconds. This is status buildup rather than 30 extra points of immediate damage, and the target's meter must fill before Hemorrhage triggers.
  • A compatible weapon with innate bleed can combine that native buildup with the coating. A Blood-affinity weapon normally cannot use grease, so changing to Blood affinity is a different setup.
  • Arcane can improve the added bleed only when the compatible weapon itself has Arcane scaling. Ripple Blade and Ripple Crescent Halberd are unusual buffable examples; extra Arcane does not improve the coating on an ordinary Keen weapon.
  • Use a weapon that allows coatings. Standard, Heavy, Keen and Quality are the usual compatible affinities; elemental and status affinities normally prevent grease, with separate restrictions for unique weapons.
  • Uses the weapon-buff slot. Another grease or a weapon enchantment replaces the coating, rather than stacking a second coating on top.
  • Applying it spends one prepared item and costs no FP. Carry up to ten, with another 600 in storage; switching away from the coated weapon can remove the effect.
  • Each batch uses 1 Root Resin and 1 Bloodrose. Applying the grease spends one prepared item; it does not consume the cookbook.
