1. From Erdtree-Gazing Hill, climb north through Wyndham Ruins and look behind the upper ruins for the catacomb doors.
2. Take the entrance lift down. Work through the blade traps and flooded passages, then climb the ladder beyond the knight.
3. At the room where the floor rises toward a ceiling covered in spikes, step onto the floor to trigger it, then move back off it.
4. Drop into the space underneath the raised floor. Search the flooded lower chamber for the corpse holding the cookbook, watching for the crabs.
5. The boss and the separate Stonesword Key room are not required for this pickup.
6. Buy the Crafting Kit from Kalé at Church of Elleh for 300 runes if Item Crafting is unavailable. With the book and kit owned, open Item Crafting outside combat.
7. Collect 1 Root Resin and 1 Fulgurbloom, then open Item Crafting outside combat and select Lightning Grease. One batch makes 1.

Notes

• Adds 85 Lightning attack power to a compatible weapon for 60 seconds. This is an attack-power addition, so enemy defenses and the attack used determine the extra HP damage.
• The added Lightning attack power is fixed. Raising Dexterity or Faith does not increase this coating's 85-point addition.
• It adds Lightning to compatible weapon hits without changing the weapon to Lightning affinity. Its effect is different from a permanent affinity that prevents ordinary grease.
• Dragonbolt Grease adds 120 Lightning attack power with different materials. It replaces the existing coating instead of stacking with it.
• Use a weapon that allows coatings. Standard, Heavy, Keen and Quality are the usual compatible affinities; elemental and status affinities normally prevent grease, with separate restrictions for unique weapons.
• Uses the weapon-buff slot. Another grease or a weapon enchantment replaces the coating, rather than stacking a second coating on top.
• Applying it spends one prepared item and costs no FP. Carry up to ten, with another 600 in storage; switching away from the coated weapon can remove the effect.
• Each batch uses 1 Root Resin and 1 Fulgurbloom. Applying the grease spends one prepared item; it does not consume the cookbook.
