About this item
Adds 63 base Poison buildup for 60 seconds. It does not poison every enemy immediately; the target must be susceptible and its buildup meter must fill.
Arcane can improve the coating's Poison buildup on a compatible weapon that already has Arcane scaling, such as Ripple Blade or Ripple Crescent Halberd. Simply leveling Arcane while using a Standard weapon does not give that benefit.
Poison and Scarlet Rot are separate ailments. This coating does not add rot, and an enemy's resistance to one is not a promise that the other will work.

Where to find
Crafting after obtaining Nomadic Warrior's Cookbook [8]
Weeping Peninsula
Starting Site of Grace: Tombsward Cave
Before you go
- Crafting Kit
- Nomadic Warrior's Cookbook [8]
- Ingredients per batch: 1 Root Resin and 1 Poisonbloom
- Find Tombsward Cave on the western Weeping Peninsula, south of the Fourth Church of Marika.
- Enter the cave and continue to the large poison chamber.
- Look on the right side for an opening that drops to a lower section.
- Drop down, follow the passage straight to its dead end and loot the corpse with the cookbook.
- Bring a way to treat poison and leave the swamp before using it.
- Buy the Crafting Kit from Kalé at Church of Elleh for 300 runes if Item Crafting is unavailable. With the book and kit owned, open Item Crafting outside combat.
- Collect 1 Root Resin and 1 Poisonbloom, then open Item Crafting outside combat and select Poison Grease. One batch makes 1.
Notes
- Adds 63 base Poison buildup for 60 seconds. It does not poison every enemy immediately; the target must be susceptible and its buildup meter must fill.
- Arcane can improve the coating's Poison buildup on a compatible weapon that already has Arcane scaling, such as Ripple Blade or Ripple Crescent Halberd. Simply leveling Arcane while using a Standard weapon does not give that benefit.
- Poison and Scarlet Rot are separate ailments. This coating does not add rot, and an enemy's resistance to one is not a promise that the other will work.
- Use a weapon that allows coatings. Standard, Heavy, Keen and Quality are the usual compatible affinities; elemental and status affinities normally prevent grease, with separate restrictions for unique weapons.
- Uses the weapon-buff slot. Another grease or a weapon enchantment replaces the coating, rather than stacking a second coating on top.
- Applying it spends one prepared item and costs no FP. Carry up to ten, with another 600 in storage; switching away from the coated weapon can remove the effect.
- Each batch uses 1 Root Resin and 1 Poisonbloom. Applying the grease spends one prepared item; it does not consume the cookbook.
