Before you go

• Receive Erudition from Thops and equip Karolos Glintstone Crown for the sealed doorway.

1. Speak to Thops at the Church of Irith, just southwest of the Lake-Facing Cliffs Site of Grace. He wants to return to the academy, but he will not take the first key you need to enter it yourself.
2. Get your own Academy Glintstone Key from behind Glintstone Dragon Smarag, on the small island west of the academy. You can pick it up without killing the dragon. Use the key at the academy's sealed entrance and progress to the Red Wolf of Radagon. Defeat it to unlock the Debate Parlor Site of Grace.
3. For your first visit, start at Debate Parlor and enter the courtyard. Go left up the broken stone slope and the stairs past the sorcerers. Jump over the left railing, climb the lower stairway, then jump the next left railing onto the roofs.
4. Follow the roofs south past two marionettes and climb the ladder. Cross the high walkway past the flying marionettes and sorcerer, then follow the ledge around the right side of the tower and drop onto the next roof.
5. Keep descending the roofs toward the marionette archers. Use the lower ledge beside their tower, then follow it around to the ladder facing the large Church of the Cuckoo roof. Jump across to that roof instead of climbing the ladder.
6. Enter an open church window onto the rafters. Drop onto the lower beam and the chandelier carrying the spare Academy Glintstone Key, then onto the upper walkway. Do not drop all the way to the floor.
7. Return to Thops at Church of Irith, southwest of Lake-Facing Cliffs. Give him the spare Academy Glintstone Key and finish his dialogue to receive Erudition. His later move to the academy is not needed to use the gesture.
8. From Debate Parlor, leave north into the fountain courtyard after defeating the Red Wolf of Radagon. Keep to the western edge rather than climbing the rolling-ball staircase on the far side.
9. Follow the courtyard wall toward the northwestern corner near the Golden Seed tree. Watch the wandering Abductor Virgin as you search the bushes beside the wall and cliff edge.
10. Kill the small blue crystal crab hidden here and collect Karolos Glintstone Crown. This particular crab gives the crown; repeated ordinary sorcerer kills are not needed.
11. For an approach from northern Liurnia, start at the Grand Lift of Dectus and leave south. Follow the uphill route past the Frenzy-Flaming Tower toward Frenzied Flame Village Outskirts, using rocks for cover while the tower builds Madness.
12. From Frenzied Flame Village Outskirts, head east along the raised ground around the ravine to Converted Fringe Tower. Watch for the Troll Knight guarding its approach. This is not Converted Tower on Liurnia's southwestern side.
13. Equip Karolos Glintstone Crown and perform Erudition in front of the statue and sealed doorway inside. Let the gesture continue until the crown lights and the seal opens; simply owning the crown is not enough.
14. Go through the opened passage, deal with the magical enemy on the way up and climb to the tower's top. Open the chest for both Cannon of Haima and Gavel of Haima.

Notes

• Requires 25 Intelligence, a glintstone staff and one memory slot. Costs 38 FP per cast.
• Deals Magic damage using the casting staff's Sorcery Scaling. The Haima name does not add Strength scaling to a staff that only uses Intelligence.
• Lobs a projectile in an arc that explodes on impact. It is useful against a group, an enemy behind a low obstacle or a target below you, provided the shot has room to clear the terrain.
• Hold the cast to charge it for a stronger blast. The charged version still costs 38 FP and can benefit from Godfrey Icon.
• The projectile and blast need a clear route. A ceiling or nearby wall can catch the shot before it reaches the group, while a moving target can leave the landing area.
• You can aim without a target lock to place the explosion on the ground or adjust its arc. Start from cover when possible, since the long cast can be interrupted.
• Haima Glintstone Crown does not give a special percentage bonus to these spells. Its added Intelligence can help casting through the staff's normal scaling, with the crown's own FP-pool penalty.
• Both Haima spells are in the same tower chest. You need Erudition and a suitable glowing glintstone crown for the doorway, rather than a Stonesword Key or a teacher's spellbook purchase.
