In-game description
One of the sorceries of the Carian royal family.
Conjures a magic sword and delivers a swift sweeping slash.
This sorcery can be used without delay after performing another action.
Even among the Carian sword sorceries, this is a notably effective technique.
Where to find
Ruined camp southeast of Agheel Lake South, then Church of Vows
Limgrave
Starting Site of Grace: Agheel Lake South
Before you go
- Have 1,500 runes.
- Give the Royal House Scroll to the teacher you will buy from.
- Activate Agheel Lake South on the southern side of the lake, then head southeast and climb the hillside toward the soldier camp.
- Look for the ruined stone structure on the eastern side of the camp, where the sorcerers attack from above.
- Go around to the higher rocks behind that ruin and use them to reach its top. Stay moving if the sorcerers are firing at you.
- Loot the body on the upper ledge for Royal House Scroll. You do not need to clear the whole camp once you can reach the corpse.
- After giving the Royal House Scroll to Miriel, Sellen or Seluvis, open that teacher's spell shop and buy Carian Slicer for 1,500 runes. The scroll is not the spell itself.
Notes
- Requires 14 Intelligence and one memory slot. Cast with a glintstone staff; each cast costs 4 FP before equipment that changes casting costs.
- Conjures a short-range sword of Magic damage. Strength, Dexterity and the physical attack power of a weapon in your other hand do not determine its damage; the casting tool's Sorcery Scaling does.
- Repeated casts alternate fast sweeps. Casting after a roll, a running action, a jump or another attack can avoid the slower opening motion.
- It is strong for close-range pressure but does relatively little stance damage. Fast HP damage does not mean it will break a boss's stance like a heavy hammer.
- Carian Glintstone Staff boosts this sword sorcery. Carian Glintblade Staff boosts a different spell group and does not give Slicer the same school bonus.
- Axe Talisman and ordinary melee-attack bonuses do not apply merely because the spell looks like a sword. Sorcery and Magic-damage bonuses are the relevant options.
- The close staff contact can be parried. Its damage is also reduced against players compared with its ordinary enemy damage.
- After giving the Royal House Scroll to a teacher, buy it for 1,500 runes. The scroll unlocks the shop entry rather than awarding the spell automatically.
- If the teacher dies after this spell is available in their shop, their bell bearing preserves the unpurchased stock at the Twin Maiden Husks. You do not need to kill a teacher to buy the spell.
