The winged golden blade deals holy damage. The diminutive shield is blessed with an incantation that wards off rot.

Starting Site of Grace: Inner Aeonia

  1. From Inner Aeonia, go toward the swamp just south of Commander O'Neil's arena. Approach the half-submerged Cleanrot Knights to make them stand up.
  2. Target the knights carrying a spear alongside their sword. Defeat them and check their dropped items for Cleanrot Spear.
  3. This is a random drop. Rest at Inner Aeonia and repeat the spear carriers if needed. The scythe carriers drop a different weapon, and killing Commander O'Neil does not award this spear.

Notes

  • Requires 16 Strength, 16 Dexterity and 14 Faith, and weighs 5.5. Strength and Dexterity have equal Physical scaling, while Faith improves Holy damage.
  • Raises Immunity by 50 while active, helping resist Poison and Scarlet Rot buildup. This raises the buildup threshold; it does not cure an existing effect or make the swamp harmless.
  • Has no innate Scarlet Rot buildup. The Cleanrot association and rot-resisting shield decoration do not mean its attacks inflict rot.
  • Sacred Phalanx costs 12 FP. The opening uppercut is followed by an arc of golden spears rising from the ground ahead.
  • The uppercut uses 140% of the weapon's full attack power. The golden spears use 500% of its Holy attack power, so Faith matters more to that Holy stage than the Physical attributes do.
  • The uppercut and golden arc each give 10 stance damage when both connect, for 20 total. Several visible golden spears do not mean one enemy receives a full separate 10-stance hit from each.
  • Shard of Alexander improves the skill, and Holy bonuses strengthen its golden portion. Godfrey Icon does not because it cannot be charged.
  • A golden phalanx on the ground is different from a hovering glintblade spell. It does not wait beside you to intercept an enemy later, and a target can leave its forward area.
  • Uses Somber Smithing Stones to +10. Its skill and affinity are fixed, and grease or weapon enchantments cannot be applied.
  • Farm spear-carrying Cleanrot Knights, not the scythe carriers or their separate straight-sword drop. Increasing Discovery improves random-drop chances without making the next kill guaranteed.
