Siofra River
Starting Site of Grace: Siofra River Well Depths
- In eastern Limgrave, follow the Mistwood road to the large circular Siofra River Well building north of the Minor Erdtree. Enter and ride its long lift down to Siofra River Well Depths grace.
- Leave the grace and follow the downhill route northeast into the stone ruins. Target the slow, blue-gray Claymen holding harpoons. Several emerge from lumps of clay when you approach, so draw them out before committing to a long attack.
- Collect their drops and rest at Siofra River Well Depths to repeat. You do not need to take the second lift into the open river or defeat a boss for this starting group.
- Eligible harpoon carriers also appear in Ainsel River. The Siofra entrance group is an accessible option rather than the only place the weapon can drop.
Notes
- With Standard affinity, physical damage scales most strongly with Strength, with weaker Dexterity scaling.
- Magic damage scales most strongly with Intelligence.
- Upgrade it with Smithing Stones. Its maximum upgrade is +25.
- Can use compatible Ashes of War. Your choice of skill and the whetblades you've found determine which affinities you can apply.
- Grease or a weapon enchantment can be applied while using an affinity that allows weapon buffs.
- Its unusual advantage is keeping innate Magic damage while still allowing grease or weapon enchantments on Standard, Heavy, Keen and Quality affinities. Scholar's Armament adds more Magic damage; it does not increase the Physical portion directly.
- Magic and Cold affinities improve its Intelligence-focused damage options but prevent ordinary grease and spell coatings. Choose between the stronger permanent infusion and the ability to maintain a temporary enchantment.
- On Standard, Intelligence improves the Magic portion while Strength and Dexterity improve Physical damage. A buff's own scaling is separate from the spear's displayed attribute scaling.
- Starts with Impaling Thrust for 9 FP, but that skill can be replaced. Like other spears, it can attack while you keep a shield raised, provided you leave enough stamina to absorb the next hit.
- The base drop chance is 2% from the eligible Claymen at 100 Item Discovery. The ruins contain enemies buried in the ground, so approach slowly rather than drawing the whole group while looking for drops.
