In-game description
Legendary sorcery devised by Azur, primeval sorcerer.
Fires a tremendous comet in a torrent akin to the distant starry expanse, the place said to be the origin of glintstone.
Hold to continue releasing the sorcery's power.
When Azur glimpsed into the primeval current, he saw darkness. He was left both bewitched and fearful of the abyss.
Where to find
Seated sorcerer beyond Hermit Village
Mt. Gelmir
Starting Site of Grace: Primeval Sorcerer Azur
Before you go
- Reach Altus Plateau and the Seethewater valley.
- From Erdtree-Gazing Hill on Altus Plateau, ride north through Wyndham Ruins and enter the valley beside Mt. Gelmir at Seethewater River. Follow the valley north, then around the mountain toward Seethewater Terminus.
- At Fort Laiedd, continue south along the outside of the fort toward the lava pool. Follow the bank around the Magma Wyrm instead of entering the fort; defeating the wyrm is not required.
- Keep following the mountain path past Hermit's Shack and the nearby Runebear, then continue to Craftsman's Shack and Hermit Village. The enemies along this route are separate from the pickup, so keep moving if you do not want those fights.
- Go through the village and past Demi-Human Queen Maggie to the seated sorcerer with the green crystal head beside Primeval Sorcerer Azur grace. Interact with him and wait through the pause to receive Comet Azur. Do not attack him.
Notes
- Requires 60 Intelligence, a glintstone staff and three memory slots. The first cast costs 40 FP; holding the beam spends another 10 FP for each continuation payment.
- The beam repeatedly deals Magic damage while it connects. Aim before releasing it, since it holds you in place and does not freely follow an enemy that moves out of its line.
- Works best when a large enemy stays still long enough for several hits. A boss that sidesteps, changes phase or closes on you can waste most of a long beam, so leave an opening to dodge afterward.
- This is a continuous cast, rather than an ordinary charge that gains a single stronger hit. Godfrey Icon's charged-spell bonus does not apply merely because you hold the input.
- Azur's Glintstone Crown increases its damage by 15% but increases all sorcery FP costs by 15%. The matching robe and manchettes add no further beam damage.
- Cerulean Hidden Tear can temporarily remove FP costs, letting the beam continue during that effect. It does not make you invulnerable or let the beam track a moving target.
- One of the seven legendary sorceries and incantations. Receiving it does not require 60 Intelligence, a fight with Azur or completion of Sellen's quest; the attribute requirement is for casting it.
