Starting Site of Grace: Aqueduct-Facing Cliffs

Before you go

  • Defeat Starscourge Radahn, enter Nokron through the crater in Limgrave, and reach the area beyond the Mimic Tear.
  1. Defeat Starscourge Radahn at the Radahn Festival in Redmane Castle. His defeat opens the starfall crater in Limgrave; it is not the sealed Siofra River overlook reached from the Four Belfries.
  2. Return to the Mistwood near Fort Haight and find the new crater marked by floating rocks. Use the descending ledges and openings to enter Nokron, Eternal City.
  3. Follow the rooftops down into Nokron's streets, then continue to the Mimic Tear boss. Defeat it and cross the long bridge beyond the arena.
  4. Leave the bridge on the left where it opens into woodland. Follow the western cliff to Ancestral Woods grace, overlooking the lower rooftops.
  5. From the upper woodland, go toward the trees beside Hallowhorn Grounds and the Spirit Jellyfish along the northern cliff. Use the lower ledge below the edge, then follow the descending path into the cave to Aqueduct-Facing Cliffs grace. You do not need to light the ancestor pillars.
  6. Follow the cave to its opening above the aqueduct. Look below for the ruined stone platforms and use the nearer ledges to drop onto the aqueduct, rather than jumping into the ravine.
  7. Find the sword-and-shield Crucible Knight patrolling the aqueduct's narrow walkway. Defeat that knight to receive Crucible Hornshield. The spear-wielding knight elsewhere in the aqueduct is a different enemy.

Notes

  • Requires 26 Strength and weighs 11.5. It starts with 70 Guard Boost and blocks all Physical damage from a successful guarded hit.
  • Holy protection is 64%, while Lightning is its weakest element at 46%. Full Physical protection does not prevent elemental chip damage, status buildup or a guard break when stamina runs out.
  • Its attack damage scales with Strength alone. The description's ancient holiness does not add Holy damage or Faith scaling.
  • Shield Bash costs 10 FP and is fixed. You cannot replace it with Parry, Shield Crash or another Ash of War.
  • Upgrade it with Somber Smithing Stones to +10. It cannot use another affinity, and carrying it does not grant the Crucible armor's incantation bonus.
  • The sword-and-shield Crucible Knight in Siofra Aqueduct guarantees the shield. The spear-wielding knight is a different enemy, and Valiant Gargoyles are unnecessary for this reward.
