Before you go

• Have 1,500 runes.
• Defeat Mad Pumpkin Head at Waypoint Ruins to reach Sellen.

1. Follow the road along the eastern side of Agheel Lake to Waypoint Ruins. The ruins are filled with poisonous flowers; look among the stone walls for the stairs into the cellar.
2. Go down and defeat Mad Pumpkin Head. His helmet blocks many frontal hits, so try to get around his side rather than repeatedly hitting the metal head.
3. Open the door at the back of the arena, speak to Sellen and agree to study sorcery. Her shop is here, rather than at her chained body in Witchbane Ruins.
4. Buy Crystal Barrage for 1,500 runes. No scroll is needed. If Sellen later dies, her Bell Bearing can transfer the unpurchased spell to the Twin Maiden Husks.

Notes

• Requires 23 Intelligence, one memory slot and a staff. Costs 14 FP to begin the volley, with an additional 2 FP for each extension tick while you keep it going.
• Holding the input extends the stream of small Magic bolts. It adds projectiles rather than increasing the base damage of each bolt, so a longer cast needs both a clear line and more FP.
• Each bolt has Magic attack power equal to 36% of the casting staff's Sorcery Scaling before defenses and damage bonuses. The small hits are handled individually, so the full volley is not one large hit that ignores the target's defenses.
• Release the cast when the target leaves the line of fire or moves behind cover. The extra bolts still cost FP even when they strike scenery.
• Crystal Staff and Rotten Crystal Staff do not give their Crystalian spell bonus to Crystal Barrage. Its crystal appearance does not put it in that spell group.
• Godfrey Icon can improve its eligible charged barrage. This is separate from the ordinary extension adding more bolts; a longer volley does not inherently make every individual bolt stronger.
• You can cast while riding Torrent, but he slows during the volley. Keep that loss of mobility in mind around enemies that can close the gap.
• Sellen sells it for 1,500 runes as starting stock. It is distinct from Crystal Burst's spread and Crystal Torrent's sustained beam.
