In-game description

One of the glintstone sorceries of the Academy of Raya Lucaria.

Fires a burst of glintstone crystal shards.

This sorcery can be cast repeatedly and while in motion. Charging increases potency.

A sorcery of the Crystal Cadre, a group of sorcerers who pursued the wisdom of stone—the secrets locked in the faint cogitation of the Crystalians.

Starting Site of Grace: South of the Lookout Tower

  1. From southern Limgrave, follow the road to the Bridge of Sacrifice. Cross into Weeping Peninsula and activate the grace beyond the guarded bridge.
  2. Continue along the road toward South of the Lookout Tower, then head west into the forest. Find the ruined stone enclosure called Demi-Human Forest Ruins.
  3. A large Demi-Human Queen is inside with smaller Demi-Humans around her. Avoid bringing the whole group onto you at once, and move around the queen when she begins casting.
  4. Defeat the queen to receive Demi-Human Queen's Staff and Crystal Burst. These are guaranteed rewards from her, rather than rare drops from the small enemies.

Notes

  • Requires 18 Intelligence, one memory slot and a staff, and costs 14 FP. Fires a spread of small Magic projectiles rather than Crystal Barrage's longer stream.
  • Charge the cast to make the projectiles stronger. Godfrey Icon can boost the charged version, while the ordinary cast does not receive its charged-spell bonus.
  • The spread rewards a close or broad target that several shards can reach. At longer range, the same FP can buy only a few connecting hits as the rest pass beside the enemy.
  • Each shard uses the casting staff's Sorcery Scaling. The crystal effect is Magic damage, not Physical damage or an inherent blood loss attack.
  • Crystal Staff and Rotten Crystal Staff do not give their Crystalian school bonus to this spell. Crystal Burst, Crystal Barrage and the actual Crystalian sorceries are separate entries.
  • The queen awards it together with Demi-Human Queen's Staff. The staff only needs 10 Intelligence, but you still need 18 Intelligence to cast Crystal Burst.
  • The drop is guaranteed from that queen. You do not need to farm ordinary Demi-Humans, buy it afterward or give a spellbook to a teacher.
