About this item
Quickly adds 110 Fire attack power for about 10 seconds. The ordinary Fire Grease adds 85 for 60 seconds, giving you much longer between applications.
The coating adds a fixed amount rather than scaling with Strength or Faith. Attack motion and the enemy's Fire defense still affect the damage dealt.
Fire can clear an active Frostbite debuff so frost can trigger again. It also removes that debuff's temporary damage vulnerability; this is different from adding more frost buildup.

In-game description
Solidified grease made from a mixture of incendiary materials. Craftable item.
A short string is attached to this lump.
Quickly coats armament, inflicting fire damage, but with a brief effect, owing to its small size.
Where to find
Crafting after obtaining Armorer's Cookbook [1]
Limgrave
Starting Site of Grace: Agheel Lake North
Before you go
- Crafting Kit
- Armorer's Cookbook [1]
- Ingredients per batch: 1 Root Resin, 1 Smoldering Butterfly and 1 String
- From the grace, ride northeast toward the camp with tents and mounted Kaiden warriors.
- Approach the camp carefully so the riders do not surround you. Search the corpses among the tents.
- Loot the cookbook from the camp. You do not need to clear every enemy before taking it.
- Buy the Crafting Kit from Kalé at Church of Elleh for 300 runes if Item Crafting is still unavailable. Finding a cookbook alone does not open the crafting menu.
- Collect 1 Root Resin, 1 Smoldering Butterfly and 1 String, then open Item Crafting outside combat and select Drawstring Fire Grease. One batch makes 1.
Notes
- Quickly adds 110 Fire attack power for about 10 seconds. The ordinary Fire Grease adds 85 for 60 seconds, giving you much longer between applications.
- The coating adds a fixed amount rather than scaling with Strength or Faith. Attack motion and the enemy's Fire defense still affect the damage dealt.
- Fire can clear an active Frostbite debuff so frost can trigger again. It also removes that debuff's temporary damage vulnerability; this is different from adding more frost buildup.
- Use a weapon that allows grease. Standard, Heavy, Keen and Quality usually permit it; elemental and status affinities usually prevent it. Some unique weapons have their own rules.
- This uses the weapon-buff slot. Another grease, weapon enchantment or coating skill replaces it instead of adding a second coating. Switching away from the weapon can remove it.
- Apply it to the weapon you intend to fight with. It does not coat every equipped armament or add its effect to unrelated spells.
- Each application consumes one grease and costs no FP. Carry up to 30, with another 600 in storage.
- Each craft makes one and uses 1 Root Resin, 1 Smoldering Butterfly and 1 String. The cookbook stays in your inventory.
