1. From Erdtree-Gazing Hill, climb north through Wyndham Ruins and look behind the upper ruins for the catacomb doors.
2. Take the entrance lift down. Work through the blade traps and flooded passages, then climb the ladder beyond the knight.
3. At the room where the floor rises toward a ceiling covered in spikes, step onto the floor to trigger it, then move back off it.
4. Drop into the space underneath the raised floor. Search the flooded lower chamber for the corpse holding the cookbook, watching for the crabs.
5. The boss and the separate Stonesword Key room are not required for this pickup.
6. Buy the Crafting Kit from Kalé at Church of Elleh for 300 runes if Item Crafting is still unavailable. Finding a cookbook alone does not open the crafting menu.
7. Collect 1 Root Resin, 1 Fulgurbloom and 1 String, then open Item Crafting outside combat and select Drawstring Lightning Grease. One batch makes 1.

Notes

• Quickly adds 110 Lightning attack power for about 10 seconds. The ordinary Lightning Grease adds 85 for 60 seconds.
• The coating does not gain more Lightning attack power from Dexterity or Faith. Its fixed addition is separate from the weapon's existing scaling.
• This is the earlier, weaker Lightning drawstring recipe. Drawstring Dragonbolt Grease adds 135 for 25 seconds but uses a different cookbook and materials.
• Use a weapon that allows grease. Standard, Heavy, Keen and Quality usually permit it; elemental and status affinities usually prevent it. Some unique weapons have their own rules.
• This uses the weapon-buff slot. Another grease, weapon enchantment or coating skill replaces it instead of adding a second coating. Switching away from the weapon can remove it.
• Apply it to the weapon you intend to fight with. It does not coat every equipped armament or add its effect to unrelated spells.
• Each application consumes one grease and costs no FP. Carry up to 30, with another 600 in storage.
• Each craft makes one and uses 1 Root Resin, 1 Fulgurbloom and 1 String. The cookbook stays in your inventory.
