1. Find Tombsward Cave on the western Weeping Peninsula, south of the Fourth Church of Marika.
2. Enter the cave and continue to the large poison chamber.
3. Look on the right side for an opening that drops to a lower section.
4. Drop down, follow the passage straight to its dead end and loot the corpse with the cookbook.
5. Bring a way to treat poison and leave the swamp before using it.
6. Buy the Crafting Kit from Kalé at Church of Elleh for 300 runes if Item Crafting is still unavailable. Finding a cookbook alone does not open the crafting menu.
7. Collect 1 Root Resin, 1 Poisonbloom and 1 String, then open Item Crafting outside combat and select Drawstring Poison Grease. One batch makes 1.

Notes

• Quickly adds 80 base Poison buildup for 15 seconds. Filling the target's meter applies Poison; the coating itself does not add an immediate Poison damage hit.
• This applies ordinary Poison, rather than the shorter and more damaging poison associated with weapons such as Serpentbone Blade. More buildup makes the ailment easier to trigger, rather than making each poison tick stronger.
• Arcane can increase the added buildup on a compatible weapon that already has Arcane scaling, such as Ripple Blade or Ripple Crescent Halberd. Arcane alone does not improve it on a weapon without that scaling.
• An enemy already suffering the same Poison does not receive a second independent copy from another coated hit. The target also needs to be vulnerable to Poison in the first place.
• Use a weapon that allows grease. Standard, Heavy, Keen and Quality usually permit it; elemental and status affinities usually prevent it. Some unique weapons have their own rules.
• This uses the weapon-buff slot. Another grease, weapon enchantment or coating skill replaces it instead of adding a second coating. Switching away from the weapon can remove it.
• Apply it to the weapon you intend to fight with. It does not coat every equipped armament or add its effect to unrelated spells.
• Each application consumes one grease and costs no FP. Carry up to 30, with another 600 in storage.
• Each craft makes one and uses 1 Root Resin, 1 Poisonbloom and 1 String. The cookbook stays in your inventory.
