About this Ash of War
Costs 10 FP for the plunge and shockwave, with a heavy-attack follow-up costing another 5 FP. The full sequence costs 15 FP.
The plunge, deeper push and optional sweep use the weapon's attack power. The ground shockwave instead deals independent Physical Standard damage that improves through Strength and upgrades.
Heavy strengthens the shockwave's Strength scaling. A different affinity can change the balance between a stronger weapon contact and a stronger independent quake.

In-game description
This Ash of War grants an armament the Heavy affinity and the following skill:
"Earthshaker: Thrust armament into the ground, then gather strength to unleash an earth-shaking shockwave. Follow up with a strong attack to swing the armament in a sweeping strike."
Usable on greataxes, great hammers, great spears, and colossal weapons.
Where to find
Invisible scarab south of Altus Highway Junction
Altus Plateau
Starting Site of Grace: Altus Highway Junction
- Reach Altus Plateau by the Grand Lift of Dectus or the Ruin-Strewn Precipice. Follow the main road to Altus Highway Junction.
- Head south toward the road intersection and watch for a small moving trail of dust. The scarab itself is invisible.
- Stand ahead of the dust trail and swing as it approaches. A broad attack can make the timing easier.
- Kill it for Earthshaker. This is an open world scarab, separate from Hoarah Loux's remembrance reward.
Notes
- Costs 10 FP for the plunge and shockwave, with a heavy-attack follow-up costing another 5 FP. The full sequence costs 15 FP.
- The plunge, deeper push and optional sweep use the weapon's attack power. The ground shockwave instead deals independent Physical Standard damage that improves through Strength and upgrades.
- Heavy strengthens the shockwave's Strength scaling. A different affinity can change the balance between a stronger weapon contact and a stronger independent quake.
- The weapon contacts use 100%, 60% and 140% of weapon attack power respectively. The wave has its own calculation, so the blade and wave are not interchangeable hits.
- The shockwave gives 30 stance damage. The weapon contacts add stance pressure based on weapon class, making a full close-range connection stronger than clipping only with the outside of the quake.
- The first plunge and sweep apply full weapon status buildup; the smaller push applies half. The shockwave itself carries no ordinary weapon status.
- Shard of Alexander improves the damaging skill. Godfrey Icon does not because neither delaying the quake nor choosing the follow-up makes it chargeable.
- The weapon plunges into the ground; this is not a foot stomp that gains foot-attack bonuses. Roar bonuses do not automatically apply to an earth-shaking animation.
- The follow-up can knock down susceptible enemies, but adds a long commitment. Stop after the quake if a boss is already recovering or moving away.
- The invisible scarab south of Altus Highway Junction gives this Ash. Follow the slow moving dust trail; Hoarah Loux's remembrance offers the separate hand-slam version.
- Compatible weapon classes: Colossal Sword, Greataxe, Great Hammer, Great Spear, Colossal Weapon. A weapon with a fixed skill cannot use this Ash of War.
- Its default affinity is Heavy. The supported choices are Standard, Heavy, Keen, Quality, Fire, Flame Art, Lightning, Sacred, Magic, Cold, Poison, Blood and Occult; the appropriate whetblade is needed for additional options.
