About this Ash of War
Holding the stance is free. Firing costs 8 FP and one selected arrow. The skill speeds up the arrow and lets it curve toward the target.
A successful shot deals 130% of ordinary arrow attack power and 150% of its normal status buildup. The damage and buildup bonuses are different; neither means a bleed or poison tick itself deals 50% more damage.
The tracking is useful against sideways movement but does not guarantee a hit against every dodge. Walls, pillars and a target leaving the arrow's useful range can still make it miss.

In-game description
This Ash of War grants no affinity to an armament, but imparts the following skill:
"Enchanted Shot: Archery skill that enlivens the arrow with spiritual essence. The resulting shot will fly faster than regular shots and change its trajectory to follow the target."
Usable on light bows and longbows.
Where to find
Scarab near the northern Ancestral Woods brazier
Nokron, Eternal City
Starting Site of Grace: Ancestral Woods
Before you go
- Defeat Radahn and reach upper Nokron.
- Defeat Starscourge Radahn at the Radahn Festival in Redmane Castle. His defeat opens the starfall crater in Limgrave; it is not the sealed Siofra River overlook reached from the Four Belfries.
- Return to the Mistwood near Fort Haight and find the new crater marked by floating rocks. Use the descending ledges and openings to enter Nokron, Eternal City.
- Follow the rooftops down into Nokron's streets, then continue to the Mimic Tear boss. Defeat it and cross the long bridge beyond the arena.
- Leave the bridge on the left where it opens into woodland. Follow the western cliff to Ancestral Woods grace, overlooking the lower rooftops.
- Look near the northern cliff and brazier for a scarab beside the rocks. Rats and singing Ancestral Followers guard this area.
- Clear a path and kill the scarab for Enchanted Shot. You do not need to light every brazier or defeat the Regal Ancestor Spirit.
Notes
- Holding the stance is free. Firing costs 8 FP and one selected arrow. The skill speeds up the arrow and lets it curve toward the target.
- A successful shot deals 130% of ordinary arrow attack power and 150% of its normal status buildup. The damage and buildup bonuses are different; neither means a bleed or poison tick itself deals 50% more damage.
- The tracking is useful against sideways movement but does not guarantee a hit against every dodge. Walls, pillars and a target leaving the arrow's useful range can still make it miss.
- The spiritual trail does not turn every arrow into magic damage. Its damage types come from the bow and ammunition, and no staff or sorcery is needed.
- It is a single enhanced shot rather than a rapid Barrage. Use the chosen arrow slot deliberately so an ordinary arrow is not spent when you meant to apply a status.
- The scarab is beside rocks near the northern Ancestral Woods cliff in upper Nokron. Lighting all six braziers and defeating Regal Ancestor Spirit are unnecessary.
- Damage uses the equipped bow and selected ammunition, including the bow's reinforcement and actual attribute scaling. The skill does not supply free arrows or give every bow new Intelligence, Faith or Arcane scaling.
- Shard of Alexander improves the damaging skill shots, while holding the ready stance does not qualify for Godfrey Icon. An arrow-damage bonus increases damage rather than directly increasing ailment buildup.
- This Ash uses the Standard affinity. Its equipment type does not receive the usual melee affinity choices.
- Compatible weapon classes: Light Bow, Bow. A weapon with a fixed skill cannot use this Ash of War.
