Swamp Lookout Tower
Caelid
Starting Site of Grace: Sellia Backstreets
- From Southern Aeonia Swamp Bank, follow the road north through Sellia Gateway. Watch for the giant throwing rocks above the gateway. Gowry's wooden shack is off the road on the right, before the town.
- Continue north into Sellia, Town of Sorcery. Activate Sellia Under-Stair on the southwestern edge and follow the main street north, watching for sorcerers appearing beside the buildings.
- Climb the stairs at the far end toward the golden sapling and the sealed upper gate. The large roots beside these steps provide the way onto the roofs.
- Near the sapling, look southwest through the broken railing for a root leading toward the nearest candle tower. Follow it, climb the tower ladder and interact with the flame at the top.
- Return to the upper steps and use the root again, this time stepping onto the adjoining roofs. Work south and east across the roofs and branches toward the eastern tower. Use Torrent's double jump for the gaps and climb the ladder to light its flame.
- From that eastern roof route, head back across the connecting roots and roofs toward the southern tower on the western side. The narrow approach has a corpse with a Stonesword Key. Climb the ladder and light the third flame.
- All three flames remove the town's different blue barriers. Return to ground level to collect the particular reward you came for; lighting the towers does not automatically put the chest items in your inventory.
- Leave Sellia through its opened upper gate near the golden sapling and activate Sellia Backstreets. Follow the rising cliff road toward Church of the Plague.
- At the large ruined gate on this upper road, turn south along the wall to Swamp Lookout Tower. Stay on the upper cliff route rather than dropping into the swamp.
- Enter the tower, deal with the Bloodhound Knight guarding the lower room and search the corpse inside for Eternal Darkness. The Nox boss fight in town is unnecessary.
Notes
- Requires 35 Intelligence, one memory slot and a glintstone staff. Costs 25 FP and 15 stamina.
- Creates a stationary dark space that pulls compatible magical projectiles toward it. You can move while casting, then reposition away from the gathered projectiles.
- Attracted spells remain dangerous until they disappear. An explosive projectile can still damage you if you stand close to the orb or its impact.
- Does not pull ordinary arrows, bolts or melee attacks. Some magical attacks are also unaffected, so keep a normal dodge or guard ready.
- This is a defensive utility spell rather than a damaging attack. A higher Sorcery Scaling value and Staff of Loss’s Night-sorcery damage bonus do not turn the orb into an attacking projectile.
- It cannot be charged. Godfrey Icon, the Graven talismans and Shard of Alexander do not improve a damage value that the spell does not deal.
- Put the orb between a ranged caster and your intended path, with room to move away from any explosive spells. Casting beside an enemy already in melee range offers little protection.
- Collect it from the corpse in Swamp Lookout Tower. The guarding Bloodhound Knight is an obstacle, not a random-drop farming target.
