Road behind Caria Manor

Liurnia of the Lakes

Starting Site of Grace: Behind Caria Manor

1. Reach the western Liurnia road and follow it north through Kingsrealm Ruins. Strike the illusory wall blocking the road at the northern end, then continue past Iji at Road to the Manor.
2. Ride toward the large manor while avoiding the magical strikes falling along the approach. Activate Main Caria Manor Gate grace at the entrance.
3. Inside, follow the courtyard path northwest toward the building in the far corner. Fingercreepers hide among the plants and beneath the ground; do not stop on a buried hand.
4. Enter the building with the seated spirit and climb its stairs to Manor Lower Level grace.
5. Take the elevated walkways east and continue straight along the main route at the first junction. Spectral soldiers appear along the bridges. Reach the far building and take its lift up to Manor Upper Level.
6. Leave the upper grace, pass the wolves in the garden and climb the main stone stairway toward the Troll Knight and sorcerers.
7. Continue up the stairs beyond the troll and Pages to the large circular courtyard. Defeat Royal Knight Loretta, then activate Royal Moongazing Grounds grace.
8. Leave the boss courtyard through its rear exit into Three Sisters and turn right toward the east-northeast, following the outside of the manor rather than the western towers.
9. Join the dirt road heading southeast toward Behind Caria Manor grace. The silver Teardrop Scarab is on this road before the grace, northwest of it.
10. Approach from the side if possible, so the scarab runs toward the woods rather than into the skeletons farther along the road. Kill it for Frozen Armament.
11. If it escapes, reset at the nearby grace and try again. Joining Ranni or finishing her quest is not required for this scarab.

Notes

• Adds 63 Frostbite buildup to a compatible right-hand weapon for 60 seconds. Requires 15 Intelligence, one memory slot and 20 FP.
• Hold the staff in your left hand and the weapon to be enchanted in your right. Use a weapon and affinity that allow outside weapon buffs.
• The 63 buildup is fixed. Raising Intelligence, using a staff with higher Sorcery Scaling or upgrading the weapon does not increase the spell's added buildup.
• It adds Frostbite buildup rather than flat Magic damage. The weapon does not gain a Cold affinity or permanent new scaling from the spell.
• Another grease, weapon enchantment or incompatible skill coating replaces this buff. Putting away or changing the right-hand weapon can remove it.
• Old Lord's Talisman extends the duration to 78 seconds. Snow Witch Hat and ordinary Magic-damage bonuses do not increase the Frostbite buildup.
• Freezing Grease gives the same 63 buildup and 60-second duration without spending FP, but uses a consumable. This spell provides an alternative when you have FP available and want to save ingredients.
• Frostbite only triggers after enough buildup and only on susceptible targets. An immune enemy remains immune even with the weapon coated.
• The scarab is behind Caria Manor, beyond Loretta. This is different from the scarab in the entrance courtyard that gives Carian Piercer.
