Glintstone sorceries

One of the glintstone sorceries of the Academy of Raya Lucaria.

Fires a horizontal arc of magic that spreads outward.

This sorcery can be cast repeatedly and while in motion.

Granted to sorcerers who depart from the academy to embark on journeys, in order to fend off large groups of would-be adversaries. Fools often roam in packs.

Astrologer starting equipment

1. Choose Astrologer when creating your character. This spell is included in that class's starting equipment. Other classes can obtain it through the purchase route.

Before you go

• Have 1,500 runes.
• Defeat Mad Pumpkin Head at Waypoint Ruins to reach Sellen.

1. Follow the road along the eastern side of Agheel Lake to Waypoint Ruins. The ruins are filled with poisonous flowers; look among the stone walls for the stairs into the cellar.
2. Go down and defeat Mad Pumpkin Head. His helmet blocks many frontal hits, so try to get around his side rather than repeatedly hitting the metal head.
3. Open the door at the back of the arena, speak to Sellen and agree to study sorcery. Her shop is here, rather than at her chained body in Witchbane Ruins.
4. Buy Glintstone Arc for 1,500 runes. No scroll is required for this starting stock.

Liurnia of the Lakes

Starting Site of Grace: Lake-Facing Cliffs

Before you go

• Have 1,500 runes.
• Buy before giving Thops the spare Academy Glintstone Key and sending him to the academy.

1. Reach southern Liurnia through Stormveil Castle or the cliff path around its eastern side. From Lake-Facing Cliffs, head southwest to the small ruined Church of Irith.
2. Speak to Thops inside and open his shop. Buy Glintstone Arc for 1,500 runes before giving him the spare Academy Glintstone Key, which sends him to the academy.

Starting Site of Grace: Table of Lost Grace

Before you go

• Obtain Thops's Bell Bearing.

1. If Thops has returned to the academy, find his body beside Schoolhouse Classroom and collect his bell bearing.
2. Offer it to the Twin Maiden Husks at Roundtable Hold and open his transferred shop. Buy the unpurchased Glintstone Arc for 1,500 runes.

Notes

• Requires 13 Intelligence and one memory slot. Cast with a glintstone staff; each cast costs 9 FP before equipment that changes casting costs.
• Fires a widening horizontal wave of Magic damage. It passes through enemies, so one cast can hit several targets lined up together.
• The arc travels at a fixed height. It can miss short enemies or targets below you even when they appear to be inside its width; changing your position can help more than casting it again from the same ledge.
• Can be cast repeatedly while moving. It is useful against groups, while Glintstone Pebble spends less FP on an isolated target.
• Damage uses the casting tool's Sorcery Scaling. It is not physical damage just because the effect looks like a blade.
• It cannot be charged. Godfrey Icon does not add a charged-cast bonus to this spell.
• Astrologer starts with it. Other classes can buy it for 1,500 runes; no scroll is needed.
