In-game description
Animal liver pickled in a gold medicinal solution.
Craftable item.
Temporarily grants large boost to holy damage negation, greatly improving damage mitigation against attacks imbued with holiness.
The effects of the forager brood's pickled delights are enhanced by the fermentation, or rotting, of the ingredients. Though this results in a pungent odor, some come to find the aroma irresistible.
Where to find
Crafting after obtaining Forager Brood Cookbook [4]
Scadu Altus
Starting Site of Grace: Church of the Crusade
Before you go
- Crafting Kit
- Forager Brood Cookbook [4]
- Ingredients per batch: 3 Rada Fruit, 1 Beast Liver, 1 Scorpion Liver and 1 Shadow Sunflower
- Moore remains alive and friendly
- Warming Stone or Sunwarmth Stone
- Reach the Church of the Crusade northwest of Highroad Cross, then search north of the church along the cliffs.
- Find the curled-up, shivering pest. Place a Warming Stone or Sunwarmth Stone beside it and allow the healing to work.
- Rest at a grace or travel away and return so the area reloads.
- Once the forager is up and digging, talk to it to receive the cookbook.
- Return to Moore at Main Gate Cross afterward for the related seventh book.
- Buy the Crafting Kit from Kalé at Church of Elleh for 300 runes if Item Crafting is unavailable.
- Collect 3 Rada Fruit, 1 Beast Liver, 1 Scorpion Liver and 1 Shadow Sunflower. Outside combat, open Item Crafting and select Holyproof Pickled Liver. One batch makes 1.
Notes
- Reduces incoming Holy damage by 25% against enemies and 12% against players for two minutes.
- Only the Holy part of a mixed attack gets this reduction. A hit with both Physical and Holy damage still has its Physical part to deal with, and the word proof does not mean immunity.
- The reduction applies to damage remaining after other defenses. It does not add the same number of percentage points directly to the total damage-negation value shown for your armor.
- Uses the body-buff slot. Another pickled or dried liver, cured meat, Boiled Crab or an incompatible body buff replaces it; eating several elemental livers does not combine their effects.
- Armor and talismans still contribute their separate protection. The body-buff limit is a restriction on those temporary buffs, not a reason to remove defensive equipment.
- The recipe comes from a friendly forager. Talk to it peacefully and collect the book while its reward is available; killing pests or advancing Moore's departure can cut off the book.
- Once the cookbook is owned, you can keep crafting without returning to the forager or keeping Moore beside his shop. The book is not consumed with each mixture.
- Applying it consumes one and costs no FP. Carry up to ten, with another 600 in storage.
- Holyproof Dried Liver is an unusual comparison: it gives 35% Holy reduction against enemies, stronger than this mixture's 25%, but only 10% against players compared with this mixture's 12%. The newer recipe is not stronger in every situation.
- Its injured forager needs healing with a Warming Stone or Sunwarmth Stone before it can give the fourth book. Rest and return to speak once it recovers; ordinary attack spells are not a way to help it.
- Each craft uses 3 Rada Fruit, 1 Beast Liver, 1 Scorpion Liver and 1 Shadow Sunflower.
